Sculptra and dermal fillers are both cosmetic treatments we use for facial rejuvenation. Both offer beautiful results, but here are the differences between the two:

✨How they work: Sculptra is a bio stimulater that works with your body to produce collagen. It’s used in the cheeks, smile lines, and hallow area of temples. Dermal fillers are made with hyaluronic acid and add volume to fill in fine lines and wrinkles. These are used for lips, tear troughs, cheeks, and jawline.

✨Results: Sculptra results are gradual over time allowing the face to naturally renew itself over months. Dermal fillers give immediate results.

✨How long do they last? Sculptra results last up to 2 years and 90% of patients report glowing, tightened skin for up to 2 years after treatment. Dermal fillers typically last 6-12 months.

Heard of vitiligo? 🔎
It is a commonly diagnosed chronic autoimmune disorder that causes patches of the skin to lose pigment or color. Diagnosis can be performed in office with a wood’s lamp, in which uses black light to show the patches of vitiligo. These patches will show as bright blue or white on exam with the lamp! Vitiligo can affect any person of any ethnicity, age, or gender. Although there is no cure, there are topical treatments that can restore lost pigment and can prevent patches from growing larger!

Mildly dysplastic nevi (moles) are very common and closer on the spectrum to a benign mole. Even though they are atypical, they are noncancerous moles. Seborrheic keratoses are benign non-cancerous skin growths. They are usually brown with a waxy appearance and slightly raised. They gradually appear as we age and do not require treatment. Some prefer to electively treat them with liquid nitrogen for cosmetic purposes.
