We would like to thank the Smokey Mountain Elementary School's Astro Camp for visiting our mine! Their students spent the afternoon looking for gems and learning about geology from our owner and local geologist, Sean Price!

The campers each received their own bag of gems, participated in a lecture on geology, and were able to work with real meteorites, dinosaur bones, and local rocks and minerals. They even used a special geologic microscope to see what meteorites look like on the inside!

It was such an amazing day at Rose Creek Mine. Our Halloween party was fun for all, and several people showed up in costume.🎃
Our winners of the costume contest were:
Lenny and Roberta Pipitone with their medieval costumes, And 12 year old Dayson, from Atlanta, GA, in his wizards cloak!

The geodes were a big hit, with several folks cracking into their geodes to reveal the crystals inside!
The rock painting was enjoyed by many, and we hope to see some of those works of art posted soon.
Also, a big thank you to the families of the Cherokee Ruby and Sapphire Mine for coming out and supporting us today. It was great to see all of you! 🍂🍁

🎃We have a brand new Geode Cracking Table at the mine. We are introducing this for our Halloween party today, and we will continue to use it throughout the coming mining seasons.
The geodes are for sale, and we crack them open for free! 🍁🍂
