In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, let’s explore effective coping strategies for managing stress and anxiety through various breathing exercises. Try these techniques to calm your mind and body:
- Square Breathing: Inhale for 4 counts, hold for 4, exhale for 4, hold for 4. Repeat as needed.
- 4-7-8 Breathing: Inhale for 4 counts, hold for 7, exhale for 8. Repeat several times.
- Alternate Nostril Breathing: Close one nostril, inhale through the other for 4 counts, switch nostrils, exhale for 6 counts. Repeat, alternating nostrils.
