John and Laura of Shagbark Mt. Cattle wanted to let you know that this week they will have both sausage and ground beef on special and there will also be some kind of steak on special too! Bring your coolers and start stocking up while things are on sale! They will also have lots of eggs but suggest you come early. While you're there if you aren't on their e-mail list get signed up. They send you updates on specials and during the winter months let you know when they will be doing a drop off market. Glade-Link Farms will be back this Saturday with your favorite fresh cut flower bouquets and sunflower bouquets! The flower girls will be at the farm on Friday morning preparing for Saturday's market! We will also have fresh picked lima beans, super sweet cherry tomatoes and home garden type slicing tomatoes, winter squash, mini pumpkins and gourds. We look forward to seeing you all again! Speaking of fall...nothing says it like fresh picked apples, pears and apple cider! Three Springs Fruit Farm has all those categories covered. Make sure to stop by to see Seppi and Ben to pick up some of the best tasting apples around. The pears have been exceptionally good this year too! I have tried just about every variety that they have and I can't really say which is my favorite, but they have all been super sweet and tasty. Now for the apple cider...In my opinion, I have never had tastier apple cider than what I have gotten from Three Springs. It is a delight for the tastebuds! The Great Frederick Fair is officially over and we ushered in the first day of Fall last Sunday, so that means Field Fresh Farmers Market is returning this Saturday, Sept. 28th 9 am - 1 pm in Lot A on Franklin St. at the Frederick Fairgrounds! We're happy to announce that one of your favorite plant vendors will be back with us starting this week with beautiful fall mums to decorate for the season. Little Red Wagon is making their reappearance and will have lots of big healthy mums and fall items for decorating. And don't forget they also will have fresh farm raised eggs too! Stop by to take in the beauty and choose one's to really make an impact on your curb appeal.

The market participates in the SNAP and Maryland Market Money programs and eligible vendors can accept FNMP and SFMNP benefits too! We are so excited to say that Field Fresh Farmers Market is now able to match funds for the FMNP and SFMNP benefits that our customers use at our market! If you use your benefits to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables from our vendors you will be eligible to get matching funds to not only get more fruits and vegetables but can purchase those other things to feed your families such as meat, eggs, cheese, breads and baked goods. We think we have the best vendors around at Field Fresh Farmers Market! They are always coming up with new products to offer and new ways to improve their presence at the market. The Kombucha Lady joined us this year and have been offering exclusively kombucha either in quart jars to take home or in cups to enjoy while you stroll the market. This week they will have a brand new "face." Their new trailer is finally finished and market ready.! Which means that they not only will have a new set up but will be offering a few new items for you to enjoy. They will be serving up fresh hot coffee and hot tea, pastries and hummus and chips as well as their kombucha. Make sure to stop by and say hi and get your morning started off just right.
