Happy Thanksgiving guys! I say this every year but I’m so thankful for all of you. You guys keep me so busy (yay!!) and I had a nice day of rest.

I can’t even believe my father is 70 years old today! There’s stuff he does (like climbing up into the attic and up on the roof when no one’s home) that I’m just amazed at and then I start panicking because he is officially…old.

This year is difficult for my family as this is the first birthday we have experienced since my mothers passing. I’m so thankful for how much my father and I have bonded over the last couple of months and all the hugs/love he has given me. It’s so difficult to talk about my mother at times but I just love hearing the stories he tells me (she would yell at him for some of them) and the memories we have shared together. Since her passing my dad now texts me “I love you goodnight” every single night without fail to remind me just how loved I am. Even though it takes him 5 mins to just type that out.

My father would drop everything in a heartbeat if I needed him and my family is so lucky that we have him even if he annoys us like crazy

Fun part about this cake is that the back side wasn’t iced at all because Roy doesn’t like icing!

Another adorable “baby in bloom” themed cake I got to do the other day. This theme and heart cakes are my absolute favorite right now and always love getting customer photos.

Also check out that amazing balloon art by Elizabeth Jennings Sharp. When I walked into her house to deliver the cake I couldn’t believe she did it all by herself. Amazing.
