Many of our patients struggle with ensuring they brush their teeth properly, which, like most things, stems from having good technique and form. Here are some tips to ensure you reach every nook and cranny in your mouth and maintain top-tier dental health. 🪥

🦷 Position your toothbrush at a 45-degree angle to your gums
🦷 Gently move the brush back and forth in short (tooth-wide) strokes, making sure to take your time & go slowly!
🦷 Brush the outer, inner, and the chewing surfaces of your teeth
🦷 When cleaning the inside surfaces of the front teeth, tilt the brush vertically and make several up-and-down strokes.

Foods and drinks with a lower pH (acidic foods, like orange juice) temporarily soften the teeth' enamel. Following up eating and/or drinking with brushing immediately could remove some of that enamel, making your teeth more susceptible to decay. 🦷🪥

It's best to wait at least 30-60 minutes after eating or drinking to brush your teeth - studies show that delaying brushing after consuming foods like tomatoes, citrus juices, soda, and wine creates significantly less wear and tear on your teeth over time!
