Posted • We’re stoked about Surf, Storms, and Spirits this Friday at . Get ready for a tsunami of good times. will be there with 400 donated oysters, shucked by their fine crew. Try your hand at winning some gear and swag. Dance your b***y to bodacious tunes. Catch a short surfing film.
Not only are these fine establishments helping raise some serious environmentally-aimed dollars for Friends of Casco Bay, but they’re also helping us spread the word about STORMWATER POLLUTION in Casco Bay.
While storms bring in the big waves, they also stir up a lot of dangerous debris and carry extra loads of pollution into the waters surfers love to ride. Maine Craft Distilling is helping us spread the word about stormwater pollution and how surfers and other folks can get involved.
Doors open at 6 pm. Films begin at 6:30 pm. Good vibes last until 9:30 pm.
Maine Craft Distilling
123 Washington Ave
Portland, Maine 04101
No need to RSVP or know how to surf. All are welcome, whether you hang ten or just hang out.
See you and your friends on Friday!

Baby oysters! Believe it or not, these little guys have been growing on the farm since last year. Oysters grow more slowly in cooler water, generally taking about 3 years before reaching market size. That gives them plenty of time to develop the quality flavor that Maine oysters are famous for 💙🦪
Our science team is excited to be trying out a sonde this month from our friends at ! The sonde was deployed this morning and will give our water quality monitoring a real boost. This will help us continue to ensure that our oysters are as happy and healthy as possible, which is good news for your taste buds 🤤🦪

Biomineralization is a natural process by which oysters (and other aquatic life) build and maintain their protective shells. In the wild, oysters frequently bind together to form oyster reefs, which serve as crucial habitats for other species and help protect the shore from the effects of coastal storms. Occasionally, our own oysters decide to bind at a young age and grow into "doubles," or, in the case of the oysters pictured, "triples"!
Regularly checking water quality is a great way to monitor the environment's well-being and ensure that our oysters grow healthy... and full of great flavor!
Posted • Throw back to another farm tour from Mike at and some plump and tasty oysters!
