The winds are picking up again. We are experiencing white out conditions in spots westbound and eastbound on highway 30, Fremont west to North Bend and East to Arlington.

Drifts are forming across the highway. We have been seeing an increase in stranded motorists calls since 3:00am.

NDOT is reporting they are attempting to clear Highway 77 and County Road G south of Uehling near Logan View Schools but it keeps drifting shut. Motorists ARE getting stuck in the drifts currently and then they cannot clear the area.

Please stay HOME and stay SAFE.

Check Nebraska 511 before venturing out there are multiple roads that continue to be impassible.

Update for County/Gravel roads in Dodge County:

At this time 8:46 a.m. 1/12/24 County and township maintainers are NOT clearing gravel roads due to the visibility issues.

They will only go out in absolute emergencies. Deputies will NOT be able to get to you if you get stuck on these roads. You will be stranded until the wind dies down and makes it safe for travel. Stay home, and stay safe.

As always dial 911 in an emergency and 402-727-2700 in non-emergent situations.

The City of Fremont has declared a snow emergency effective today 1/12/24 from 6am through tomorrow 1/13/24 at 6pm. Please move cars of streets / snow emergency routes asap. Thank you for your cooperation.
