Hello! We are looking for someone to teach our cross-listed Psychology/Sociology of Addictions course this Fall. You need at least a Master's degree. Ideally we would like the course to be taught during the day (currently scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2-3:20pm), but could possibly become a night class. Another alum, Megan Levesque Wolfe, is expanding her clinic, Spectra Behavioral Services, and seeking individuals interested in full-time positions. You do not need to have been in the ABA program at Midland. There are opportunities to earn your Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential while working at Spectra. Exciting news for Nebraska’s behavior analysts! Yesterday, licensure for behavior analysts unanimously passed in the Nebraska legislature and was signed by the governor. This is important because it protects consumers of ABA services. This effort was led by Midland alum and fellow behavior analyst Desireé Jo Dawson. Along with the help of other committee members, Desiree’s organization and perseverance made this possible!!

Congratulations to Alana Noelle Meyers and Krista Hinrichs who completed their Master’s degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at UNO this weekend! We are so proud of you!! Let us know what future plans you have!

Friday was a big day at Midland as our senior Psychology and ABA majors presented their research and shared their practicum experiences at our Research Fair! It was incredible to learn about the great work they’ve done! Congratulations to Sarah Showalter, Matt Welton, and Lance Myers who were recognized for outstanding performance in their categories!

Our alums continue to accomplish great things!
Veronica Johnson became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in the Spring. Veronica was at Midland before our ABA program was developed so this is especially exciting for me as well! Congratulations, Veronica!!

Jordan Amundson (Lempka) earned her Ed.S. from UNK in May. She is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist and was selected by her program's faculty as "School Psychology Outstanding Graduate." How can this be?? It feels like you just started grad school! Way to go, Jordan!!

Congratulations to Andrea Stearns- Clements for her first publication as first author! Her article, "Promoting the emergence of tacting three-digit numerals through a chain prompt combined with matrix training," with co-authors Wayne W. Fisher and Madeleine Keevy, was published in the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis in July. Huge kudos on this great accomplishment, Andrea!!

Exciting news from our most recent entrepreneur alums!
Megan Wolfe (Levesque) recently opened Spectra Behavioral Health with honorary alum Jes Beck and Victoria Cohrs. Spectra provides Early Intervention ABA services to children in Omaha diagnosed with autism. They focus on high-quality services and caregiver empowerment.

Brittany Childress (Korth) earned her Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP) and Certified Master Social Worker (CMSW) credentials last year. This summer, she opened her own private practice in Albion, NE, focusing on mental health and wellness. Her practice is called Growth & Grace Counseling.

WOW!! What incredible accomplishments!! Congratulations to all of you! We wish you much success in your new endeavors! Let us know when you're ready to take on Midland interns or new graduates! :)

Good news from one of our recent alums! Flora Grandel was accepted into the Master's Program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Bellevue University. This is so exciting and we are SO proud of you. Congratulations!! Please keep us posted on your progress!!

Alex R. Muessigmann begins his 2nd year at Bryan High School teaching Physical Science & Biology as well as coaching the Offensive & Defensive line for the football program. He's working hard on his Ed.D. in Organization Leadership. How fun is this?? Keep us posted on your progress, Alex!

Blake Paris earned his M.S. in Sport Management at Southern New Hampshire University and now works as a Corporate Sales Executive for the Omaha Storm Chasers. This sounds fun too!! We are headed to a game next week, Blake. It would be fun to see you there!!

Myles Shonsey joined the Shonsey Wealth Management Team at Tagge Rutherford in the spring and is now fully licensed as a Registered Investment Advisor. He's also licensed for life insurance and annuities. Wow! Very impressive, Myles!!

Lawrence Chatters was recently named Senior Associate Athletic Director for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at UNL! Lawrence served for the last couple of years at Midland as Vice President for Student Affairs and Chief Diversity Officer. We will miss you, Lawrence, but wish you the best in your new position!!

After graduating from Midland, Rochelle Janning (Olson) completed her BSN (graduating Summa Cum Laude no less!) in the Accelerated Nursing Program at Creighton University. In November, 2020, she began a position as a Registered Nurse at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Thanks, Rochelle, for all you are doing as we try to overcome this pandemic!

I have several updates to share so will post over the next few days in no particular order. :)

Let's start with our most recent graduates: Heather Johnson, Daniel Olson, and Rhiannon Tallent earned their Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential while completing their ABA internship at the Munroe-Meyer Institute last year. After graduation, Daniel accepted a full-time position as an RBT in the Severe Behavior Clinic at MMI.

Rachel Bentz was named our Outstanding Student in Psychology for the 2020-2021 school year. Rachel's consistent hard work in the classroom, leadership as President of Psi Chi, and involvement in campus activities made her the perfect candidate for this award!

Congratulations and well done to all of you! We are proud to have you as new Psychology alums!

It's been too long since I've posted on our page but this announcement will get me started again. Such exciting news as we begin a new major in ABA this fall!! Special thanks to James E. Tremain for his vision all those years ago, Jamie Simpson for her ongoing support, and all our ABA minors since 2007. This wouldn't be a reality if not for all of you!!
