It’s the end of an era, we’ve handed over the keys to our little slice of downtown 👋🏽

Root was a creative space dreamed up by husband and wife team Kirk and Cassey James. It housed curated retail store as well as a design and print studio.
Their mission was to bring thoughtful functional design to the community, while creating a memorable shopping experience. They opened with the goal to support and showcase Fresno’s local talent.

We’d like to think we made the kids in the last photo proud.

We never set out to be known for our shirts but here we are, 1000 designs later…

For everyone who’s been looking to snag one more you’re in luck, we found a box of blanks and are busy printing them now.
They’ll be available online and in person starting this Wednesday for our final open days.

We’re back in shop this week and wrapping it up with a Farewell Toast at the end of next, so if you want to snag something before we close our doors this is your chance!

As this year and time in the shop come to an end, we’re reflecting on how far we’ve come from where it all began. Cheers to new beginnings in 2023 🥂

We want to thank everyone for the well wishes, the memories, the shares, the sales, and lastly the news for recognizing we have two sons 😂
Out of all the things Downtown gave us, we are most thankful for our Sonny Boy!
We’re gonna start the trip down memory lane with this pic from 2018.

The time has come to say goodbye 🥹👋🏽
What began 7 years ago as a family business of two, has now grown to four with the addition of our boys, Sonny and Otis.
We have created endless memories and relationships over the years that we will cherish forever, and now want to spend more time doing the same with our family. We are so thankful for our downtown community and everyone who has shown us support over the years!
The shop will officially be closing its doors on January 14th, so come by and send us off with a hug from now till then.
