Fresno Swing Dance

Join us for Tuesday Night Swing!

We'll teach you the steps you need to know to learn how to partner swing dance. No partner? No problem. Our classes are social and rotate partners, and you'll meet a ton of cool, new people. We also have Lindy Hop class! This is a class that you need to be able to do the basic steps from 6ct swing. This class is a progressive series, so you do need to start it at the beginning of the month. If you miss the first week, then you have to wait for the next month to start.  AND every 1st Tuesday, we offer a Lindy+ class! Tune-Up: Let's talk body mechanics, connection, and how to "show up" to every dance you have on the social floor.

Be sure to arrive at least 15 mins early (7:15).
**Late Policy: We understand that unforeseen circumstances may cause tardiness; however, to ensure the smooth running of our dance classes and out of respect for our instructors and fellow dancers in our community. Dancers who arrive more than 15 mins late (7:45) will not be allowed to join the class. You may still join us for social dance! Put on your shoes, stretch, get water, and join us in the main room at 8:30. We look forward to dancing with you.**

Dress code: Wear what is comfortable for you! Some dress up, some dress vintage, & others wear jeans & a T-shirt. We especially recommend comfortable shoes or dance shoes with a small heal or wedge (shoes that don’t fall off your feet).

We’ve been asked to social dance at Downtown Fresno’s Around the Block on Friday, April 26th! We will be dancing from 7-9PM We'll be outside of the South Stadium Building (corner of Van Ness & Mono). Vanessa will be DJ’ing! This is a family-friendly event.

Around the Block is a 5 part block party series hitting the streets of Downtown Fresno! Every other month, a different block will be highlighted, showcasing what makes our downtown a destination. 🎉 Each block party will be a different and fun experience, curated by the businesses themselves. You can expect delicious food, live music, photo opportunities, special workshops, and other fun activities. 🙌 We can't wait to see what each block has in store!

Come put some “fun” in your fundamentals! This co-op workshop between FSD, David Moates, and friends from CP Swing will have you exploring textures, techniques, and unique ways to connect in your swingouts. This Saturday!!!

This is an advanced workshop, you do need to know the basic Lindy Hop steps along with the swingout.

Spots are limited, you can register tonight at Tuesday Night Swing!

No partner? No problem. Our classes are social and rotate partners, and you'll meet a ton of cool, new people. Do you have a partner and only want to dance with them? That's cool with us, too. When the class rotates, just stay with your partner.

We also have Lindy Hop class! This is a class that you need to be able to do the basic steps from 6ct swing. If you don't know how to rock-step or triple-step, you will be asked to take the 6ct swing lesson.

Dress code is casual. Wear shoes that don’t fall off your feet and don't forget to bring water!

There's a lot of dancing going on this weekend!

Hey daddy-o! Time to put on your poodle skirts, slick that hair back, and jive on down to Goldstein's for this months Flashback Friday, Nifty 50s tonight!!! We will be teaching a swing dancing lesson from 7pm-8pm, followed by a dance social from 8pm-9pm, then to close out the night The Rayford Bros. will be performing from 9pm-11pm TONIGHT, September 16th!

As we work towards opening back up after our extended absence, we are committed to keeping Fresno Swing Dance a fun and safe place to dance for all. We’ve been getting an influx of messages asking about our swing dance lessons. We love this dance, and we are grateful people are interested in getting back to dancing together. However, we are still on a hiatus during this pandemic. We will make an announcement when we are ready to return. 💕

In the meantime, please follow our page for other community events you’ll enjoy!

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are cancelling all of our events until further notice.

Our goal is for our community members to continue to learn and be engaged during social distancing. We are looking into various ways to accomplish this through live streaming, filming lessons, friendly contests, etc. Please be patient as we adapt to this new situation.

We encourage you to continue to follow our page, as well join our Facebook group, Fresno Swing Dance Community.

Dancing makes us happy, and we need to dance more than ever!

We really miss dancing with all of you! With the Governor’s June 15th reopening of the state around the corner, we know everybody is wondering when Fresno Swing Dance will start back up again. We are working on a plan to reopen, hopefully by the fall, but are asking for your patience as we create a plan that keeps dancers safe. We will be watching for the guidelines recommended by the Governor and CDC as well as how other dance scenes are managing the transition. We hope to be dancing with you all soon.
