Do you ever want to just eat up what you are making? This pattern is so fun! Today I've been meeting with local yarn shop owners in Southern California and now I'm spending some sweet moments knitting on the beach. It's been too long since I've done this. What's your favorite place to knit?

Shhhh secrets!

I've been a little quiet over here because I'm knitting on a super secret project. But I can now give sneak peaks! I'm using Gerty in our Bi Pride colorway. I'm pretty excited to share the progress, just a couple more weeks and I can tell you what it is.

I'm reporting in on wearing my Zaddy top all day. Zaddy is 70% organic wool and 30% linen, and I know some people see wool and think this couldn't possibly be a summer yarn. Our high today was 111° F, and I just got back from grocery shopping after beebopping around town all afternoon.

I was actually more comfortable in this today than I have been in my regular cotton tops. As you can see I'm a bit red faced, I live upstairs, so after bringing all the groceries in, I had to carry them upstairs.

Honestly, I was shocked at how comfortable this top is while going up and down the stairs. I always run warm and don't often get to wear knits like this because of that. I made a top in our Cloud (light fi*****ng weight 80/10/10 sw merino/cashmere/nylon) and can only wear it when the temp is in the low 70's.

I have a super secret project I need to cast on and I'm looking for the perfect color. I like to knit even while I'm shopping and deciding on the next project. Do you do that, too?

Our first few Pride orders are getting mailed out today. It's an honor and humbling dyeing so many different flags. I didn't expect it to be, but it has been quite an emotional experience dyeing all of these.

Many of you may not know that I was raised in Q***r community and culture. When I was in high school my mom was let go at a job she really liked and where they "liked" her, but her sexual orientation didn't line up with the company's family values.

As a community, nation, and world, we have come so far but there is still a long way for us to go for us all to be able to live and love openly.

I'm spending my day flying to Chicago to pick up the Anzulamobile, then I'll be visiting middle America yarn shops.

I'm knitting up a proper ish swatch. It really should be bigger. So far, since this photo was taken over knit with the 7's and 8's, I'm in the middle of working with the 9's. Fingers crossed I get gauge with these. The pattern called for size 6 knitting needles and I was way off the required gauge with the suggested needle.

When was the last time you were way off gauge with the suggested needle?

Oh, and have you done this? Instead of repeatedly recounting out 16 stitches to check my 4 inch gauge goal, I put stitch markers to see if I was anywhere near the goal. I'm wondering why I haven't always been doing this.

Check out this pretty little facie made with leftover yarn from my Lunar Phases Cowl - a pattern I released SIX years ago! Yes, that yarn has been kicking around for that long and it got QUITE tangled up after going through three different moves (from Virginia to Texas to California to Hawaii). I'm delighted that it's going to get to have a second career as part of the Ice Core Crochet Project, organized by !

Today, we had the most fun hosting the Mira Monte knitting club. We dyed stock blanks, talked business, and spent some time weaving.

Ages ago our friends at made this for us. There's spinning, weaving, knitting, crochet, and felting. I love it so much! Special thanks to and love you bunches!

Tucker came to visit us while we stitched. He's the best boy.
