As Americans, Memorial Day is not just another holiday on the calendar, it is an opportunity for us to honor the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces, and to remember the more than 1.3 million U.S. service members who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Each American that raises their hand and serves with honor does their part to make our nation stronger. We owe them a great debt of gratitude for that sacrifice.

To all active and former military personnel and their families, thank you for your service. To those who have lost loved ones, their service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
