Paul Vermel - the Fresno Philharmonic's second music director and conductor - was our dynamic leader for 7 seasons, spanning 1959 through 1966. In that time, he programmed boldly and took an active role in conducting the Youth Orchestra. Maestro Vermel passed away last week on February 14th, just 5 days before his 100th birthday.
