Our Story
Founding Pastors Ricardo & Helen Gonzalez,
For 20 years have been called to a unique street ministry here in Fresno, California, Located on the corner of Belmont & Vanness! There testimony is a powerful testimony, where God had delivered them from 10 years of drug addiction, alcohol addiction, a broken marriage and home, hate, and misery! In 1988 through the grace of an Uncle, and the love a church, he was touched to become the start to a change in his family! And since then, God has done wonderful and beautiful things in there lives! And one of the many great things, that God completed their lives is Step Of Faith Church, a 500 dollar seed of faith, which they didn’t have at the time, but believed Gods calling and direction, the Step Of Faith building was sold to them, and they had a vision to reach their city for Christ. Reaching out to different areas in our neighborhood, making no boundaries to who God could reach, such as prostitutes, drug user, broken homes and families, youth, gang relation. The hope that we spread, and give to others that are seeking for that peace and life of promise, is that change does not come over night, but by steps, some small, some big, but if your going to take them, take a “ STEP OF FAITH”.
Now the Senior Pastors of SOFC is his son Manny & his wife Missy Gonzalez, maintaining the vision very much alive, and moving SOFChurch to the next level in Gods design. Continuing to reach the lost, and through his message of hope in Christ, reaching a younger lost generation. Pastor Manny has always worked with his father in the ministry, from world wide evangelism, to locally being his Associate Pastor at SOFC before assuming position as Senior Pastor, with 22 years of ministry he has now responding to the next chapter as Leading Pastor at SOFC.
