Harris Construction is proud to support our local FFA and 4-H students!

For the sixth consecutive year, we were able support these students by purchasing several of their livestock projects and sharing the selections of beef, pork, and lamb with our incredibly hardworking and dedicated Harris Construction employees.

This year we were also delighted to be able to work with Catholic Charities to donate over 600 pounds of meat to be distributed in our community.

Harris Construction is honored to be crowned the Best Construction Business of 2023 in the Central Valley!

It’s the Final Days of our 2023 Coats and Gloves Drive!!

This past week, our Harris elves have been working hard to purchase quality coats from your cash donations. They were able to collect over 400 coats from many Fresno favorites, including Fashion Fair’s JC Penney’s and River Park’s Old Navy.

We are getting closer to the 1,000 coats marker, but we need your help in these final hours. We are actively accepting coats, gloves, and monetary donations until 3:30 PM December 6th. Every item of warmth may be donated to our Harris Construction Main Office (5286 E. Home Ave.) or any Harris jobsite. All check donations may be made out to our faithful partner, Catholic Charities.

It takes a lot of work and coordination to transform an empty lot from site/utilities to a functioning Matilda Torres High School campus – all in the span of two years.

Many of our veteran employees worked diligently to build this multi-phase Madera Unified high school. The campus includes single and two-story buildings with classrooms, science labs, career technical education classrooms, administrative space, library/media center, health clinic, cafeteria, gym, locker rooms, performing arts theater, aquatics complex, play courts, playfields, parking and ancillary facilities.

Our team successfully managed this build every step of the way – through footings and structural steel to rough-in and finishes. The 277,000 sq. ft. Matilda Torres High School was a great accomplishment for our team and design partner – Darden Architects.

At Harris, we pride ourselves on being adaptable to different construction delivery methods. Here is an example of a project we recently completed utilizing the Design/Build method. The newly completed Madera County Justice Center was envisioned, planned, and constructed, over the course of three years, through our early working collaboration with one of our design partners (PBK) – along with Kitchell and Madera County’s District Attorney and Adult Probation’s staff.

In a Design/Build the builder is introduced to the project at conception. The builder leads the charge in collecting the owner’s vision, directing the design partner, and managing the project until its completion. Harris was able to contribute and provide an ‘in-construction’ perspective while in the early planning and preconstruction phases. The on-time and on-budget Justice Center for Madera County is a great testament to Harris’ priority in constructing amazing facilities by building lasting relationships.

We’re excited to kick off the school year by welcoming over 55 aspiring construction professionals, thanks to our valued partnership with Valley ROP. Our fall session of Careers in Construction began with a tour of our Fresno City College New Science Building project, providing these students with a firsthand look at a real job site. The day concluded with a visit to our main office, where our senior management team shared insights over lunch.

Our Careers in Construction program with Valley ROP is designed to give high school students an early and hands-on introduction to both job site activities and office operations. A sincere thank you to Valley ROP and our dedicated teachers for their continued support in making this educational journey possible. Harris is looking forward to another educational session in spring and a successful program.

Members of our team paid a visit to the Fresno State Construction Management students. We held an informational presentation and provided lunch for the Bulldogs interested in learning about internship opportunities at Harris Construction.

On October 17th, we marked a momentous occasion with the groundbreaking ceremony for the Terry P. Bradley Educational Center – the fourth Educational Center for Clovis Unified School District.

Harris Construction is proud to continue its more than 40-year partnership with Clovis Unified to build this state-of-the-art educational center. The vision includes cutting-edge 2-story academic buildings, a modern administrative building, a fully equipped gymnasium with concessions, and sprawling sports fields for our future athletes.

The sheer scale of this project is a remarkable achievement for the Central Valley, offering our local students top-tier educational spaces and sports facilities. Congratulations to Clovis Unified School District for this historic milestone!

We have reached another milestone at our Fresno City College New Science Building project. Beginning with extensive groundwork, completing structural work and now installing mechanical equipment to the roof, Harris, our subcontractors, and our architect/engineer, Lionakis, have made this project possible.

Recently, we placed a 12-unit HVAC system on the roof of the three-story structure. Each unit had to be individually trucked in and hoisted using a 275-ton crane to account for the 18,000-pound units.

The stakes were high, but with the skill and dedication of Strategic Mechanical, American Crane Rental and our Fresno City Field Management Team, they made it look effortless. Congratulations to our industry partners for propelling us closer to the contemporary science facility Fresno City College students deserve.

The CHP is going to catch us! Especially with this amazing dispatch center in operation.

Harris Construction finished the 4.8 acres California Highway Patrol Field Office and Dispatch Center in early 2018. This design/build facility is equipped with state-of-the-art refueling stations, a vehicle service center, dispatch center, and secure parking for over 170 patrol units.

This project represents the value-engineering expertise of our Estimating, Scheduling, and Field Teams. Throughout this design process, we, as the general contractor, worked with the designers and owners to act as a bridge from conception to finished structures. We are proud of this project because it represents our collaborative mindset as a professional construction management company.

School is back in session, meaning the Harris Construction Fall Internship Program has begun!

The Harris Construction Internship Program was created to provide construction management students with real-world experience on active construction sites. Our Paid Internship Opportunities are for college students who are eager to think beyond textbooks. The two Construction Management positions are for the Project Manager and Superintendent career pathways.

Our fall session runs for 16 weeks and gives the intern the opportunity to read plans/specs, draft RFIs, observe daily tasks, problem-solve, and much more.

Welcome back to the 2023/24 school year, Bulldogs!

Does this building look familiar? It’s the Jordan Agriculture Research Center. Harris Construction proudly completed this project for Fresno State in 2016. The center is fully equipped with state-of-the-art lab rooms, expansive classrooms, and inviting student study spaces which assist in providing an exceptional learning environment for Fresno State students.

Our collaboration with Fresno State continues this fall semester. Keep an eye out for our construction team working to enhance the campus with the upcoming Science Building Modernization project.

Our self-perform team, Harris Construction Services (HCS), showcased their craftsmanship on the Matilda Torres High School tennis courts build-out. They skillfully coordinated the sequencing and pouring of more than 1,300 yards of concrete for 58,000 square feet of courts.
