We were just walking around the nursery and saw that these beauties were in bloom. We’ve got pink and white shade lovers in stock!

Dinner plate hibiscus are known for their very large blooms. The ones at the nursery right now have flowers 6 to 8 inches wide. They 🌸 bloom late summer to early fall when other plants are finished flowering. They grow 3 to 8 feet tall and 2 to 4 feet wide. They thrive in full sun, which is great for our valley, but they do well in partial shade. Keep them watered well and they will be happy in your home! 😀

𝙇𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙠 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙨𝙠𝙚𝙙: "So many grasshoppers! Help!"

Hot dry weather brings out the grasshopper hordes. While a few in your garden is no cause for alarm, an infestation can do a lot of damage.

Grasshoppers are hard to control (they’re fast!) but easy to spot. Here’s a few ideas:

🟢 Create habitat to encourage natural predators like snakes, toads, and birds.
🟢 Hand catch them–in the cool of early morning they’re sluggish and easy to nab.
🟢 For small areas or single plants use netting.
🟢 Keep gardens well w**ded in spring, reducing food for the newly hatched nymphs.
🟢 Borrow a pet duck! Ducks in the garden are great insect control. Chickens in the yard love grasshoppers too, but can cause problems in the garden.
