The following disclaimer is for those who are thinking how they would’ve approached this patients plane. I chose to partially dissolve certain areas and integrate previous work with my own. In a perfect world, we would do a full face dissolve, but this isn’t always financially and emotionally feasible.
The face and this field are dynamic and we can change and adapt accordingly.
I think we’re on a path of successfully managing her signs of aging☺️

I really believe that’s what separates one injector from the next.

The patient presents with a concern (destination)
The injector formulates a plan to get you there (route)

If there’s no plan, you might end up somewhere you dont want to be🤷🏻‍♀️

Avoid injectors who inject an area in isolation. One area affects everything else (think Tetris🕹️ or the 🦋 effect)

And injectors seem to be a dime a dozen now.

The patient’s main complaint was heaviness to her lower face.

We could get some improvement with filler to redirect our attention to the upper face. But sometimes we just don’t need more volume.

What we can do is REPOSITION your existing volume👏👏

AND the improved definition to her chin!

Patient complaint:
Heavy lower face, lack of jawline definition

Assessment:
Flattening of cheek
Descent of inferior jowl fat pad
Chin retrusion

Plan:
High density filler to cheeks
Kybella to jowl fat pad 2 sessions (off label)
High density filler to chin (deferred…patient is having oral maxillofacial consult to address her bite)
Neurotoxin to chin to decrease tension and dimpling

Desired outcome: improved jawline definition

A key🔑 aesthetic principal is balance (not necessarily symmetry)
The artistry of injecting is creating the experience of harmony when looking at a face

Now we’ve created a problem, we’ve thrown the face out of balance

Filler + a skincare routine suited for your needs = chef’s kiss!

Filler is a great thing, but it’s unfair to expect it to do so much—it adds volume, but if you are trying to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, it’s time to go back to the skincare routine. The two working together in unison is a beautiful thing. I am always happy to recommend products for your needs as well :)

Migration, looks unnatural and unhappy with the result…oh my! 🦁🐅🐻When there are multiple issues like this, we have to dissolve and start over again. Filler got us into this and it isn’t going to get us out of it.

I’ve said it once and I will say it again...give yourself a break! Sitting at home all weekend does not mean you wasted your weekend. Especially if it’s a 3-day weekend. 😉

Sometimes we just need to reset ourselves for the week and reflect on how the week went. Sometimes we just need to veg out and not think about anything 😝 What’d you do on your day off?

Unfortunately, we can’t always have what we want. 😬

2 things about bruising + filler:

1️⃣ALWAYS plan ahead. I recommend getting filler at least 2 weeks before any event. Bruising is entirely normal and is the main side effect of filler, but I know you want to enjoy your new look ASAP. Keep events like weddings, photos, family gatherings, etc. in mind when booking!

2️⃣Arnica. Arnica is an all-natural preventative/treatment for bruising. You can take it orally before an appointment, or apply an arnica gel on your bruises (carefully) to lessen potential bruises or help heal quicker.

Refer to my last reel for more ways to lessen bruising 😉

What’s growing in your Skincare products?

If you’re keeping them too long, possibly

What does this mean for your skin?

I mention this because i frequently hear patients say “I have (fill in the blank) that I bought a while back”

This can mean a few things:
1️⃣It was irritating to your skin
2️⃣You’d didn't like the product, didn't see results
3️⃣Bought it on impulse or under pressure and don't know what purpose it serves

When to throw it out🚮
🧴Products with active ingredients: 4-6 months
If you haven’t finished the bottle/tube by then, you’re not using enough of it or aren’t being consistent

This MAY be why it’s not working.
