Let us congratulate Victor Perez Jr. on his promotion to UCP+ Children’s Program Director in Hanford, CA! He has been a cornerstone of UCPCC+ for over 25 years, starting as a 1:1 Aide in the Inclusion Program and evolving through roles such as Early Interventionist, Inclusion Coordinator, and Early Start Manager, to his new position as Children's Program Director. His dedication to serving the families of Kings County has been fueled by the inspirational stories of the children and parents he's worked with, witnessing their growth and achievements, like attending college and giving back to the community.
Victor values the incredible team of past and present staff members, who have created a trustworthy, supportive environment for families. He's committed to building on the foundation laid by previous leaders, particularly Debbie, whose legacy of heart, strength, and knowledge continues to guide the program. Outside of work, Victor enjoys quality time with his family, church activities, and date nights with his wife, whom he deeply admires. A lover of classic Sesame Street books, Toy Story movies, and all things Star Wars, Victor also has a soft spot for cookies of any kind!

After 26+ years of dedicated service, we bid a heartfelt farewell to Debbie Gibson, our cherished Children’s Program Director at UCP+’s Early Start Program. Debbie’s journey with us is a testament to her unwavering commitment and boundless compassion.

Her story began as a devoted parent involved in our services, driven by her love for her four sons—Cody, Keith, Josh, and Jake—and the steadfast support of her husband, Mike. It wasn’t long before Debbie’s passion and natural talent led her to step in as a substitute, and eventually, to a vital role within the Family Resource Center.

From there, Debbie’s impact grew exponentially. Her transition to the role of Children’s Program Director saw her guiding us through challenging times, including the unprecedented difficulties brought by COVID. Throughout it all, her love for partnering with our community and her dedication to fostering an inclusive environment shone brightly.

Debbie’s philosophy has always been rooted in the belief that every child deserves a nurturing and equitable start. Her advocacy for families with special needs and her commitment to supporting them through thick and thin have been cornerstones of her work. Under her leadership, the Children’s Program has flourished, becoming a beacon of hope and inspiration for many.

As Debbie steps into retirement, we celebrate not just her exceptional career but the profound and lasting impact she has made on countless lives. Her legacy of compassion, advocacy, and dedication to inclusion will continue to inspire and guide us as we strive to support and uplift every child and family in our community.

Thank you, Debbie, for your tireless work and the enduring difference you’ve made. You will be deeply missed but your spirit will forever be a part of the heart of UCP+.

UCP+ is proud to support the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) 34th Anniversary. On July 26th we celebrate this important civil rights law that prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in all areas of public life, including jobs, schools, transportation, and all public and private places that are open to the general public.
The purpose of the law is to make sure that people with disabilities have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else.

It is with deep sorrow and sadness that we share the loss of an incredible individual, Russ Takeuchi, who has been a pillar of strength and positivity within our UCP+ community. As our Board Vice President / Treasurer, Russ Takeuchi brought invaluable insights and leadership to our organization, and his cheerful demeanor brightened every room he entered.

Russ's unwavering dedication to UCP+ was nothing short of inspiring. His commitment went beyond attending meetings and fulfilling duties; it was a profound passion for our cause, a genuine desire to make a difference. His efforts consistently propelled our mission forward, helping us reach new heights and touch more lives.

Russ Takeuchi had a rich history with UCP+: his uncle Ken worked with the organization’s Brian Sturgeon Run that used to be held annually. Following in his uncle's footsteps, Russ had been a dedicated member of the board for more than seven years. His deep connection to the organization's past and his forward-thinking vision were instrumental in our continued success.
We are incredibly fortunate to have had you as part of our UCP+ family. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

His service will be held this Thursday July 11th at 10:00 a.m. at UCP+ 2044 E. Nees Ave. Fresno, Ca. 93720
