Summer Break Cakes
Cookies, Cakes, & Vintage from Estates
Finally got to check out
We drove by to check out the progress and hoped we might catch a peek of the moat. We couldn’t see the moat from the street but we always love checking out the Santa Fe Castle progress. Follow their account to keep up with the progress.
Well now isn’t this cute!?!?!?
Aloha
Summer 💛 Hawaii 🌴
I made my first boutonnière this weekend. 🌻
It’s the details for me ☕️
Flowers make me happy 💛 .blooms H-E-BH-E-B
Spent last week in Hawaii. 🌴 It was beautiful and the weather was perfect. Stay tuned for some pictures from the islands.
The bargain flower basket was a little slim tonight at my local store. But this is what I turned 4 bargain bundles into. The greenery was my favorite! Lots of textures. 💐🌹🌸
Not sure what can of worms I am opening, but I’m here for it!
🌹 from my garden…well really just the bushes in my front yard that I let just do whatever they want. 🫣
I picked up these cuties at Round Top Collection. I just love them! 🐇❤️🐇
Had to make a trip to the county fair office which meant…I had to stop and check out the progress on 🏰 If you haven’t checked out their social media lately, head over to see what they are doing! There is major construction going on. They have come a really long way since the days of buckets and bucket and buckets of water.
Yesterday we explored Galveston Island. I read about this house a couple of weeks ago and had to go and find it. This is the Trube Castle. It was built in 1890 and is a 1900 storm survivor. I just can’t get over the black and white checkered sidewalk. 🖤 It’s located on Sealy right off of a roadway. Next time you are in Galveston check it out. 📸 cover pic taken by my 12 year old
Found this little gem today at The Strand. Next time you are in Galveston check them out. .gtx
Trying something new 🧵

Happy happy birthday to my hubby! ❤️
Birthday cake time! Happy 40th to my brother.
Who is ready for Christmas? My kids asked if we can skip fall and start decorating now! I can’t wait to share all things Christmas decor and fun this season. Stay tuned! 🎄
Teacher activity coming at you!
Last week we created these monsters during homeroom. This is a great activity for any age student. I did this activity with juniors and seniors in high school! Every students needs a sheet of paper and a marker. Then all they do is listen and draw as you read prompts about their monster.
We followed it up with a discussion about active listening and how that skill ties to note taking. This activity is great for homeroom time.
Here were the prompts we used for the activity.
Draw a monster prompts:
Give students these prompts one at a time. Have them draw what they hear. At the end have them compare their monsters to other students in the class.
1. This silly monster has a round body.
2. It has 2 long arms and it’s hands have 4 fingers.
3. It has 2 flexible legs.
4. It has 5 eyes, all different sizes. 3 of its eyes have eyelashes but no eyes have eyebrows.
5. It has a large mouth with 7 teeth. Two of the teeth are pointed.
6. Your monster has spots on it’s legs and arms.
7. Take 2 minutes to add finishing details to your monster.
Working on putting up the fall decorations 🍂🍁🍂 I also decided that anything I don’t use, I’m giving away. It’s time to clean out the old decorations.
A Captain inspired cake for my oldest daughter’s birthday. I started decorating cakes when I had her. My first cake was her 1st birthday. I have made every birthday cake since (with the exception of one cookie cake). I don’t bake for many people anymore, but I will always bake for my girls as long as they keep asking.
A little garden party cake for a sweet little birthday girl.
I took a little stroll through yesterday. These pieces caught my eye. My favorite is the butterfly. What’s yours? 🦋
Banana Oatmeal Muffins with chocolate chips 💛 I tried recipe for these…and they were so simple! BTW they smell amazing!
Had to run to pick up feed this morning and had to stop to take a few pics. This is the Santa Fe castle. Originally built in the 1930s, a couple has purchased it with the hopes to bring it back to life. I have always been intrigued by it as I have driven by many times. If you want to follow their progress check out 🏰
When you come across random nature pictures in your phone courtesy of your 11 year old…Said she was getting practice for 4-h. 🍀
