Melissa Berry is a Dallas native with over 25 years of experience in the title industry. She began her career at a title plant, where she cross-trained in various departments, from order entry to abstract and examination, curative, and review of legal documents for residential and commercial properties. This experience served as the foundation that helped propel her career into its next phase, which was the establishment of her own fee office, in partnership with her attorney.

Melissa has experience with a wide range of transactions, including commercial, residential, investment, heirship issues, and traditional closings. Finding solutions to complex problems is her forte, and she is unafraid to challenge the title insurance underwriter to obtain a favorable outcome. I don't have a college degree. I came from parents who graduated high school and have a strong work ethic. They didn't know anything about starting a business or running a business. They said, go to school, get a good education and work hard. That's all I've ever done.

So when I sat down with my business atty counterpart yesterday, who is a litigating real estate atty with over 30 years of real estate atty experience, over 20 years of owning fee atty title offices (and other title company owners refer atty's to him that want to open fee offices or agencies), tells me that I'm doing a great job at running my business like a business and that I have strong business skills, I take that to heart and stand tall in my accomplishments. That's huge for someone like me, who has no college degree, to have taught myself what I know!

I share this with anyone who is reading this...
IF YOU HAVE THE WILL, THE DESIRE, THE HUSTLE, GRIT AND GRIND - it doesn't matter what you DIDN'T have growing up, it matters what YOU HAVE IN YOUR HEART to become whomever and whatever you want to be! Don't let your circumstances keep you from achieving what you want!

In our industry as realtors, loan officers and for most escrow officers - your success is determined by your WILL and DESIRE to make it happen. Real Estate is one of the few industries where there is no ceiling or cap to the amount of money you can make and success you can have the way you want it!

GO GET IT AND DON'T LET ANYONE TELL YOU DIFFERENT!!!!

Another month end ends and Q1 has ended as well. Business will never be what it was from the second half of 2020 to the first half of 2022 but that's the real estate market for ya!

I hope you all have had a great Q1 and are picking up the pace for Q2. Remember, educating the consumers - buyers and sellers - is extremely important. Understanding why they need title insurance is crucial. So, What is Title Insurance?
