In the spring of 2020, I used live streaming as a way to help keep my community abreast of a landscape which was constantly evolving. So was the case when I interviewed ATA College Prep Founding Head of School Carol Hagar.

I predict 2024 will see a marked increase in the use of live video. That’s why we at EKH Media have made significant investments in our capabilities to do live, virtual and hybrid programming. Additionally, I am personally invested in developing and deploying ways to make these events more immersive than people at home sitting in front of a screen and watching passively.

Before there was an EKH Media, there was just Duey and Kim looking to tell the story of what made the tennis center they ran special. We were blessed to tell the story of how Jack Turpin brought the first Davis Cup Tie played in a public tennis center to Samuell Grand TC in Dallas. Mr. Turpin, Nancy Jeffett, Marcus Freeman and Dennis Ralston have all passed since we sat down with them to capture their recollections, but their story lives on in the first video I ever produced. I’m proud to have called Mr. Turpin a friend and am forever grateful for having to opportunity to tell this story.

Tennis should band together with other sports to fight our common enemy…couch potatoes!

I’m concerned with how many youth play tennis well! A recipient of the US Olympic Committee Developmental Coach of the Year for tennis once told me, “We (he and I) don’t create players. We create monsters!” I’m now beginning a consultancy practice focused on families chasing outsized extraordinary results.

One thing which annoys me to no end is when people freely interchange the terms Strategy and Tactics!
