The Ed.D. program in Educational Leadership at Frostburg State University is tremendously proud to announce that it was selected as one of four finalists for the national Program of the Year award given by the Carnegie Project on the Educational Doctorate.

In its acknowledgement of this honor, the award committee wrote, "It was obvious that your faculty at Frostburg State University deliberated at length on ways to ground your Ed.D. program as both field-based and solution-focused. The committee determined your redesign of the practicum courses resulted in clear connections between the course objectives and specific CPED principles. Your evidence suggests that the alignment to the 'laboratories of practice' framework created opportunities for students to both learn and apply learning related to social justice and equity. Relatedly, the final application suggests that community organizations are benefitting from opportunities to solve systemic issues and, by proxy, infuse an equity-focus."

We are delighted to receive this national recognition.
