Viola Heritage House Museum
Viola Heritage House: A-Traveling Museum celebrating African American leaders & history Inspiring All
On Friday, Randle Elementary will participate in our campus dedication and ribbon cutting. Due to space, this event is only for the staff and students of Randle Elementary and the Viola Gilmore Randle family. Due to the checking in of visitors for the dedication ceremony, the office will be closed from 8:30-10:00 a.m. and will not be able to process any transportation changes during this time. Additionally, due to the logistics of the event, no lunch visitors will be able to visit during lunch on this day. We will take lots of pictures to share with our families!
We are encouraging our students to wear Randle shirts, purple, or green on Friday as we celebrate!

๐จHistory Alert! From Katy Texas African American Heritage Society ๐
Most people donโt know that the African American community in Katy started immediately after emancipation. Before the City of Katy was founded formerly enslaved people established a small settlement comprised of families rice farming and others seeking to work on the MKT Railroad.
Land was eventually given for a school, churches and burial grounds. Today, this community is called the Danover Community and it is endangered of erasure. The Black Heritage Family Festival is our way of raising awareness about this important history and an opportunity to work towards a more sustainable future.

๐ Meet My Amazing Parents ๐
Hello everyone! Meet my incredible parents, both raised in New Orleans. My mom is a true Creole woman, and my dad is a mix of Irish and Black heritage. Iโm the oldest of 4 girls, and my parents have been happily married for 52 years! ๐
Do you see the smiles on their faces? When they say "The Apple Doesnโt Fall Far From The Tree," theyโre definitely talking about me. ๐
I donโt want to sound too boastful, but they have raised an awesome, intelligent, and blessed young ladyโME! ๐ฅฐ
With that being said, my journey in healthcare was straightforward. You offer a service people need, and it all works out hand in hand. But venturing into real estate and the politics that come with it is overwhelming. Let's continue to pray that we find a home in Fulshear, TX, for my museum. My parents taught me to never give up.
"Nicole, you are Blessed," my mom always says. And dad always reminds others, "Call Nicole, she knows." I love them for making me feel like I can accomplish anything in this world. ๐ฅฐ๐๐ฝ
