I had the opportunity to fellowship with Bishop Steve and Lady Rita Smith at The Alley and the Chevron on this weekend. It was a blessing to witness the turnout for free bowling and free gas! Thanks to you both and your church family for blessing so many on this weekend. Please keep up the outreach and keep working hard to help others!

I would like to thank the Gadsden Firefighters Union Local 454 for providing me with an opportunity to come and speak.

I’ve worked as a public servant for over 25 years. I started with the Gadsden Police Department as a patrol officer. In years past, I was given the responsibility to train new officers as a Field Training Officer. Before my retirement, I was promoted to detective.

I’ve been on the dangerous calls. I had to work two to three off duty jobs to provide a better quality of life for my family.

So, I know your sacrifices! I know because I am one of you!

On day one, I will work to provide a way to improve your wages and benefits. You deserve better!

I support you! I believe in you!
I respect you!

I am your voice!

It’s long overdue, it’s time for us to come together, make a stand, and make our city the City of Champions!

Insight into the day-to-day tasks, processes, and policies lessens the learning curve. You and your family do not have time for a long learning curve.

Vote for Thomas Worthy. His proven passion and dedication along with his effective relationships with the employees at City Hall will ensure that he is the only candidate that can get the job done on Day One!!!

Vote for Thomas Worthy Mayor of Gadsden!!

I am Councilman Thomas Worthy. I've felt an overwhelming call to run for the Mayor of Gadsden. Over the past 7 1/2 years, I've been the lone voice at City Hall. I've stood alone on many important issues that affected you and your family.

Our city has been stagnant for too many years! It's time for the people to have a voice, it's time for us to stand together as a city, as a county to make Gadsden known again as the City of Champions!

This will be an open forum Drug Abuse Summit. We will bring together local medical and educational personnel, first responders and the court system among other local authority figures. We have to start somewhere and work together to save lives.

We had a public safety committee meeting this morning to bring the church, community & American Legion together. The American Legion will reorganize and go by their own by laws. We also got an update on My Store 10th & Tuscaloosa & The Crown on E Broad. We will not take any action on closing these places down at this time.

08/06/2017

In response to a concerned citizen and to others that may be concerned about the closing of the American Legion....As a public official there are times when tough decisions must be made for the "betterment of the majority!" The FACTS are as follows: The commander was shot on the premises; Over a year ago I met with the membership along with the commander and informed them of the "community complaints;" the Legion is a "post" not a "club" for its MEMBERS AND THEIR GUESTS;" and overwhelming complaints from the community, surrounding churches and SOME OF THE LEGION MEMBERS are not pleased with the activities of the Legion. No child signed the petition. The Legion is currently closed as result of other reasons. We will be having a public hearing and the public will be informed. As a result of your inability to conduct research of the facts it will be wise to do that FIRST before you attempt to misguide the public. However, we appreciate your interest and concerns.
