Last day of June and this is what I have read that is new for the library . What have you read to your child this summer ?post below or if you have a recommendation for the upcoming school year post it too .
As I reflect back to this past school year , I just want to say thank you to all of the parents, grandparents, and followers who have supported my page. This summer will go by so fast . Here are a few free events going on along with Gadsden Public Library summer reading program . Everyone have a great summer . I will see you back in August ❤️📚
We had such a great time opening our Book Blast items today . Each child will go home with a book for summer reading . Kindergarten were on a field trip so they will get their books tomorrow 😁❤️📚
Back in March I shared a book from the fair that was historical fiction . I loved it so much that I ordered the original book of this series. Of course, I had already read book 2 , but I can’t wait to share this one with the second and third graders. Both will be available next year for students to check out .
We had a great time listening to Beth from JSU field school speak to 3rd- 6th grade. She shared unique facts about animals that live in our region . Check out their web page for fun summer opportunities. www.canyoncenter.org
Did you get your 10 emails or phone numbers in today ? Tomorrow is the last day for the treasure chest
Another few days left on our book Blast fundraiser. If you know of any business that would be willing to support our school please share . I even have a form for them for taxes. We are giving away another treasure box in the morning . ❤️📚
Lemon or Lemonade? Students in 4th-6th grade did a book review this week on our books that hadn’t been checked out in a while . Students determined if the book was a lemon and needed to go or if it was a lemonade and needed to stay . Mrs. Coleman and I served them lemonade while they did the review . 🍋❤️📚
Way to go Sophia ! Tomorrow we will be giving away a treasure box so get those emails in tonight ❤️📚Book Blast
Another great book from this year’s Newbery nomination. It didn’t win, but it was one that I didn’t want to put down. This historical fiction is based on the famine that happen in Ukraine in the 1930s. The twist at the end will shock you . Great for 4-6 graders . I plan to order more by Katherine Marsh.

Have you introduced historical fiction to your child ? This a good way to introduce history / historical facts . This is a new book that we purchased during the book fair . It is about a mouse who met Abe Lincoln and learned about his honesty , kindness and loyalty to others . I enjoyed reading it and would recommend it to our 3rd graders .
