On the heels of the release of Petty Country, the new album celebrating Tom Petty’s songs
preformed by country artists, Tom Petty Weekend is proud to announce The War and Treaty
for the 2024 festival. Fresh after a 2024 Grammy nomination for Best New Artist, and Best
American Roots Song, The band opened for The Rolling Stones, Chris Stapleton, Jason Isabel,
John Legend and Al Green in 2024. Their music is a exciting blend of soul, gospel, blues, rock,
folk and country.

-Perennial Tom Petty Weekend star, Jake Thistle, rock artist and author, Jeff Slate, will be
partnering up for an exciting edition of a live, song-for-song performance of Wildflowers (and
some of the rest). The Gator City All Stars will be backing them up.
-Mudpies, the Mudcrutch tribute band featuring original member Danny Roberts, has reunited
for a special performance after a significant visit to The Church Studios this year. There, Mike
Boulware and Danny found original recordings of the band before Mudcrutch were signed for
the record label (pre Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers). These fifty year old recordings are the
inspiration for this years live performances, featuring songs that have never been performed
since they were recorded.
- Kevin Brown of The Tom Petty Project podcast will be live and in person during Fridays’s
storytelling afternoon.
- Tran Whitley, an original member of the Epics (one of Tom Petty’s first bands) will be telling
some funny stories and playing some songs to honor Tom. He has quite a show lined up for the
fans.
- Shine and the Shakers, Someday Honey, Lowly Worm, Fortune Child, Matcha, Couch
Messiah’s, Zaa Boo Zays, The Bennett Hall Band, Keith Eveland, Shuzi Pass, and A tribute to
those we have lost and more to be named later will be performing.
-Tom Petty Weekend is an annual festival celebrating Gainesville’s most famous son and his
band. Fans from all over the US and Europe make the trek to Tom’s hometown to experience
his music performed live by amazing musicians and hear personal stories told by those that
knew him.
