Always Use Your Brand Colors..

In design, colors play a crucial role. They have the power to set a mood, make or break a design, and even influence the emotions and perceptions of the audience. Research has shown that

92.6% of individuals considered colors as a chief reason to make a purchase decision.

90% of individuals make sub-conscious judgments based on the colors of products.

If you have brand colors, use them in your designs. If you don’t have any brand colors, don’t worry! You can use any color that matches or communicates your brand message. And for that, you need to understand the meaning behind every color. For example, green represents health, new beginnings, growth, nature, and wealth.

Hey guys! So I wanted to start working on a new logo and I became curious.. If you're a business or brand in need of a logo or someone who wants to redesign their logo, what kind of logo would you go for?

Here's a list of the different kinds of logo:

1. Monogram logos (or lettermarks): Monogram logos or lettermarks are logos that consist of letters, usually brand initials. IBM, CNN, HP, HBO…

2. Wordmarks (or logotypes): Similar to a lettermark, a wordmark or logotype is a font-based logo that focuses on a business’ name alone. Think Visa and Coca-Cola.

3. Pictorial marks (or logo symbols): A pictorial mark (sometimes called brand mark or logo symbol) is an icon—or graphic-based logo. It’s probably the image that comes to mind when you think “logo”: the iconic Apple logo, the Twitter bird, the Target bullseye.

4. Abstract logo marks: An abstract mark is a specific type of pictorial logo. Instead of being a recognizable image—like an apple or a bird—it’s an abstract geometric form that represents your business. A few famous examples include the BP starburst-y logo, the Pepsi divided circle and the strip-y Adidas flower.

5. Mascots: Mascot logos are logos that involve an illustrated character. Often colorful, sometimes cartoonish, and most always fun, the mascot logo is a great way to create your very own brand spokesperson—er, spokes-character(?). Think of them as the ambassador for your business. Famous mascots include the Kool-Aid Man, KFC’s Colonel and Planter’s Mr. Peanut.

6. The combination mark: A combination mark is a logo comprised of a combined wordmark or lettermark and a pictorial mark, abstract mark, or mascot. The picture and text can be laid out side-by-side, stacked on top of each other, or integrated together to create an image. Some well known combination mark logos include Doritos, Burger King and Lacoste.

Wordmark logo design is all about keeping it simple.
What is a wordmark? It’s a type of logo design that includes only the company name — no symbols, mascots, or badges. Wordmark logos are also called “logotypes,” and can include monogram variations for smaller spaces like social media profiles.

Here's a strong case for choosing this type of logo:

TEXT BASED LOGOS

Text-based logos include only the company name without images. This type of identity is considered to be timeless and independent of the business area. Let’s consider two reasons to create a text-based logo:

To emphasize the company name: It is perfect if it consists of one or two short words (Sony, Nokia, Calvin Klein). If the title is longer, consider using a monogram (BBC, HBO, or IBM).

To announce your company: The more people see your name, the sooner they’ll remember it. This is especially important for those who enter the market and want to become recognizable.
