Sharing a few photos from our lovely End-of-Year Sisterhood Brunch and Membership Meeting at B’nai Israel yesterday.
The delicious food was lovingly prepared by Sisterhood members and a dear friend, and many attendees helped with clean-up at the end … thank you!
We had a fruitful discussion during the business meeting about potential programs and events for the coming year, which begins July 1.
Please renew or begin your Sisterhood membership by completing a Membership Form and paying dues on our webpage. There are instructions for paying by check as well.
Sisterhood members can come from outside our B’nai Israel family. Join us!

Please send me your photos from yesterday’s Sisterhood program and I will post! I was too busy to be an effective photographer, but it was a lovely and fun event.
We had a lovely end-of-year Sisterhood event and membership meeting yesterday, with delicious appetizers, a Sisterhood Board and celebrity photo-matching contest (adult-child photos), family heirloom sharing, and impromptu dancing at the end!
Thanks to Nancy Miner and her team (Alicia Rudin, Margaret James, Jodi Oren, Linda Dassa … did I miss anyone?!?!) for planning and pulling off this fun afternoon.
Now is a great time to join CBI Sisterhood for the coming year, which begins July 1:
CBI Sisterhood - Congregation B'nai Israel Whether you are joining for the first time, renewing your membership, or making a donation, you are supporting our commitments to Congregation B'nai Israel (CBI) as we have in the past. Sisterhood's contributions to CBI include:
Jake Tapper and his family present a cautionary tale about dealing with a medical emergency. Doctors don’t always make the correct diagnosis and sometimes the rationale for rejecting a potential diagnosis is shortsighted and even archaic.
Dr. Sanjay Gupta on Twitter “My colleague and friend underwent a horrifying ordeal with his daughter Alice. A medical misdiagnosis. He asked me to tell their story as a cautionary tale — one that happens 7 million times a year”
Members of Sisterhood were happy to volunteer for the Congregation B’nai Israel Day School Fall Festival this afternoon. There were lots of young children and their families, plenty of food prepared by Ibti and her staff, fun games, a raffle, and time to shmooze with old friends and new ones. What a fun time!
Here are a few photos that Jenna Backer and I took at the event.
Kudos to the Fall Festival Committee, and many thanks to our Sisterhood volunteers, and two of their husbands, for helping with set-up, games, and/or clean-up: Linda Bobroff, Esther and Bill Mauffray, Nancy and Kevin Miner, Jenna Price, and Connie Stern.
Here are a few more photos of our Sisterhood Fall Brunch!
Here are a few random photos from our lovely Fall Brunch on Sunday.
CBI Sisterhood had our Fall Brunch on Sunday and it was great to see IN PERSON so many of our members as well as potential members, including several Chavaya moms. It seemed to me that everyone enjoyed themselves eating, shmoozing, chair dancing, and learning about Sisterhood and opportunities to get involved.
There are too many people to thank, so I will just mention our event committee chairs Elizabeth Ziffer and Nancy Miner who led the effort to put together a lovely morning. Cindy Dern and I enjoyed being part of the committee, and highly suggest that YOU volunteer to play a role in getting another in-person or online event lined up for our members. When we share the responsibilities, we all take on only what we have time for and it all gets done!
I’m posting a few photos from our chair dancing activity and will post additional photos after contacting those whose faces will appear!!
