Before and after treatment, approximately 60 days post treatment.
Before and after treatment of emergent species infesting a fresh water system. Precision timing of day, time of year, weather prior to and day of are essential ingredients as well as product & formula selection and surfactants. Since 1976 Aqua Plant Control, Inc applicators have delivered those components to those in need to include the private sector and governmental agencies.
For assistance in the “war on w**ds or algae”, shout us out and we’ll be glad to assist you.
DIY projects are available also for certain systems and plant species.
Before and 7 days after treatment of a planktonic algae bloom November 2023
Organic debris clogs fountain filters and pump impellers causing poor architecture display patterns and gallon per hour flow rates. Cleaning should be done immediately to prevent major damage to motors that are very expensive. Community residents can prevent these repairs by reporting it immediately to their folks in charge of their HOA’S.
Emergent species both native or exotic can be both beneficial and a pain for people. And they can do both good and harm ecologically within ecosystems. Here the cousins torpedo grass and maiden cane of the panicum family are preventing boating access and swimming around the dock. Torpedo grass is exotic and maiden cane is native while having abilities to do both good and harm. In this case they are adversely impacting a home owner’s boating access to the main body of the lake. Selective and moderate control areas will afford access and improve recreational sports, while leaving the plants in non use areas for the benefit of the food chain, wildlife and fishery. A win win management strategy of the sorts.
Brass mechanical float switches allows augmentation from wells and keeps depths at a precise level without the need for you to flip switches. They function just like the ones used in toilet tanks. Simple to install.
Another DIY happy customer, from unusable lakefront property to usable. The treatment was done by the customer using only a bucket and our prescribed product and formulation, right out of a kayak. Just pour it in, simple.
*Note: This treatment process saves thousands but is only done with certain plants or algae. A taxonomy and identification of the treatment site must be conducted to determine if it’s a doable solution for your problem. It does address a host of problematic plants and algae.
Our latest offer for those in need of aquatic w**d & algae control, our DIY Program. Once identification of plants and algae is completed, we produce a treatment work plan for you and you apply the product at our recommended rates and product and surfactant selection rates. It’s as simple as walking over to your pond and pouring the product into the water. That’s it! Done!
No equipment needed, no boat, no truck, no spray rig, you become the applicator. No license needed to purchase or apply to your own water body.
Note* Only certain species of plants and algae are applicable.
Take photos of your plants and send them in to us and we’ll determine if this DIY program will work for you.

Pulling maintenance on outdoor aquariums, 🙏
Another happy DIY customer. Before treatment and 3 weeks after the initial treatment. One mile of canal went from 99% infestation to 2% infestation without adversely impacting desirable shoreline vegetation that’s stabilizing banks soil and preventing erosion issues.
Her quotes for mechanical harvesting and other treatment programs ranged from $6,000 to $12,000 but she opted for APC’s DIY consulting program for $1,200 to cover consulting, products are free and comes with the consulting agreement. Products are EPA Listed as GENERAL USE, no license required to purchase or apply for home use. She’s one happy lady. Now she’s opting for a diffuser aeration unit and bio enzyme augmentation “mud bugs” that are like buzzards, they consume decaying organic detritus and sediments. A state of the art model for wetland management.
These daily rains are a double edged sword in that good and bad comes from them. Some of the bad created is some serious low water that made systems unusable, a decrease in depth that increased light pe*******on that stimulates algae and plant growth and it also had a serious financial impact on local businesses. To include but not limited to all aspects of those associated to fishing, boating, marinas, boat dealerships, restaurants, hotels, bait shops, fuel purchases, just to name a few. All who work in those businesses feel the pain. From a limnology stand point, droughts in a nut shell is a natural cycle that’s destined to happen and systems will evolve and change. They will also present a host of challenges that only limnologist know about and have to be dealt with as they evolve and show their face. The good from these rains is that they recharge systems that look good as they are filled to the brim. Aesthetically they look awesome. But we aquatic plant managers see both the good and bad with it. That runoff brings a host issues outside of water. Nutrients, bacteria, organic matter and more are key ingredients for problems when you put them in 💯 degree water and throw 14 hour daily photo periods here in the southeast on top of them. Plants and algae will be alive and well, thriving for a lack of better words. Best to have a PRO LAKE MANAGER on them to dose them up before problems occur. Because they will!
Before and after phytoplankton treatment at a large office complex. Aesthetics is the primary concern here with fishery as a second. Employees can either sit outside in peace enjoying the views and aqua acoustics or they fish immediately after hours and feel the pull of monster bass before going home to their personal responsibilities.
Treating systems to control this plant requires a lot of forethought and expertise as it is considered a very high risk in ascertaining high control efficacy levels. Levels of success and duration of control is dependent on many factors to include but not limited to rainfall and runoff that provides vast amounts of nutrients that serve as a good source for it. Heat and other water chemistry parameters also play a big role in propagation.
We’re growing internationally and here at home! 🙏👍💪👊
Pulling maintenance on shallow pond fountains ⛲️ is a must. Poor pattern display is indicative of clogged filters that impact water flow and aqua architecture. Poor display and reduction of water flow across submersed motors cause over heating and costly repairs to burnt up motors. Overheating also increases amp usage that leads to higher electrical bills. Quarterly maintenance is a must if you want peak performance and longevity from your unit.
Dyes are for aesthetics only. The idea of reducing light pe*******on to impact photosynthesizing plants and algae is a myth. Algae and submersed vegetation is reported to only need 00.005% light to photosynthesize. That’s a very small amount of light. It’s not an algaecide nor a herbicide, it does not stop or control plants or algae from growing. This concentration in this picture was directly post introduction and will dissipate as it dispersed around the pond.
Lush green plastic looking yards comes with a cost. Slow release granular fertilizers are best in communities with storm water retention basins. They slowly release over a 3-9 month period, not the quick release post a single rainfall or irrigation. Your landscaping and pocketbook wins as there is only a single application and your ponds win without the fast bang of nutrients.
Nutrients, hot water, 14 hours of Florida sunlight is key ingredients for a soupy pea green soup like this. Water fowl can introduce it from adjacent ponds and it also can be established in underground drainage pipes during drought conditions and after a good rain it gets flushed in to systems like this. It can grow instantly with a minute trace of pho’s your nitrogen as if bird baths. Put in clean water that contains a microscopic amount of phosphorus and in 24 hours the water is pea green soup. It doesn’t take much to support algae growth. This neighborhood has almost 500 homes, each yard gets 1 pound of nitrogen per month via lawn care programs. How quick will 500 #’s of phosphorus do you think will culture algae? Hmm 🤔?
The floating plant azolla aka: mosquito fern or water fern, 18 days post treatment.
Diffuser aeration maintenance, blowing out dust, pollen and organic matter, pressure checks, filters replaced, bleed off pressure check and lubricated. These system save lives, literally. Humans, plants, algae, fish and all living organisms is a waterbody. No matter the size, from fish tanks to large outdoor systems. Everything lives and requires oxygen benefits from oxygen. But they’re more important on a whole different level. It enhances water quality second to none as the synergistic lift in the water column creates a transport vessel to lift harmful elements, gases, ammonia up and out of water. Not limited to carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide, ammonia, methane and others. Reduction of these elements enhances the bottom layer of water as well as aerates and turns it from anaerobic to aerobic. This change makes the profundal stage of the water column healthier for all living organisms. If the base of a food change is solid, so is the top of the pyramid. Meaning bass, bream and all other upper level species.
They also serve as an insurance policy in keeping your fishery alive during low dissolved oxygen periods when hot temperatures and heavy rains occur. Ain’t nothing like protecting your investment in your natural resources. Not having one in your system and experiencing a fish kill is like not having a burglar system in before burglars come.

Pumped out loose sediments, re-shaped, clay liner installed and now ready for rain.
Before and after a DYI treatment for Lilly species. February 2023 was the commencement month, after photos are April 2023, some situations we are able to consult with homeowners on how to do it yourself.
Muck removal and installation of a clay liner. Clay vs plastic liners? Clay will not get degraded in sun lights up rays and cannot be torn by equipment, reptiles or wildlife. Once liners are perforated underwater, water lossage occurs and liners are exposed and extremely difficult to patch. We prefer clay liners, Mother natures natural barrier seldom fails you. Installing the correct type of clay and thickness is paramount in success with it.
Impeding encroachment of emergent w**ds.
Before and after two treatments of emergent species.
Spring 2023 treatment results, before and after. Getting ahead of the hot summer weather that heats up water and reduces dissolved oxygen levels. Having plants and algae decomposing in cool weather and water temps reduces risk of fish kills. Timing is essential for success and prevention of hurting a sustainable fishery.

2023 is on us, plants are coming out of winter dormancy early here in Florida, time to lock and load and have those rigs ready.
Dyes are for aesthetics. While people claim they inhibit light that suppresses propagation of algae and submersed vascular plants, some research implies it’s impossible to do. Algae requires microscopic levels of light to grow. I’m on board with it as I’ve witnessed both algae and plants growing in dyed ponds. We use it to appease clients only.
A fresh water system post treatment of algae and duckw**d that infested 100% of the surface area prior to treatment. Water was not evident prior to treatment. The system was brought back to life and productivity is now abundant with life.
