Last week, had the pleasure of attending the Builders Association of North Central Florida Silent Auction at Santa Fe College in support of apprentice scholarships. It was a fantastic evening of networking and representing our trade community. The construction trades are essential to our success, and we're passionate about supporting the next generation of talent.

Our team was hard at work yesterday with a 3am concrete pour for the new Tower Hill Insurance Headquarters, laying down 300 yards of concrete to kick off the foundation. These pours require immense coordination, communication, and teamwork, and our crew delivered. The overhead views really highlight the scale and layout of this project—stay tuned for more updates as we continue to make progress!

This past Sunday, St. Ambrose Parish in Elkton, FL celebrated a momentous occasion with the groundbreaking of their new 7,400 sq ft Family Life Center, which will house administrative offices, classrooms, and a worship space.

We were thrilled to be part of this significant event alongside the Diocese of St. Augustine, celebrating the start of this important project. The ceremony was a powerful symbol, as they blessed and overturned the ground to mark the beginning of this exciting new chapter for our community. 🛠️🚧

We are incredibly grateful to be the contractor of choice for the San Felasco Tech City development. This project is more than just buildings, site work, and concrete—it's about collaborating with over 60 innovative businesses that call this vibrant community home. We've had the pleasure of partnering with visionary owners, entrepreneurial minds, and businesses that are making a significant impact on the Alachua area.

🎉 We’re thrilled to celebrate the grand opening of Cox Mobile’s new location on the corner of 43rd and 23rd in Gainesville! 🎉

The ribbon cutting this morning was a huge success, thanks to the incredible support from our community. As the largest private broadband company in America, Cox serves nearly seven million homes and businesses across 18 states, and we’re excited to have them right here in Gainesville. Their new spot is the perfect addition to our community, bringing innovation and connectivity closer to home.

It's truly special to share our passion with our kids, letting them experience what we do firsthand. We love it when our team members bring their kids to job sites, allowing them to see, feel, and hear what it means to work in construction.

We had an incredible weekend celebrating the ribbon cutting of The Peter & Jennifer Sleiman Building at The Discovery School! This new 9,000 sqft, two-story building in Jacksonville is a testament to months of hard work, dedication, and collaboration with our incredible partners and community members. With its modern wood-framed construction and metal roof, the building will serve as a vibrant hub for the upper school community. It features six classrooms and an auditorium, offering a large gathering space for parent education and campus events. We're immensely proud to have been the design-build contractor for this transformative project, which now enables the school to expand its middle school offerings.

This past weekend, we hosted our annual company family day picnic, but this year was extra special as we celebrated Scherer Constructions 40th anniversary—four decades of excellence serving North Central Florida and beyond. 🎉 Our employees and their families gathered for an indoor fun day filled with excitement and camaraderie. From volleyball and basketball to blow-up bowling, bullseye soccer, and a competitive co****le tournament, there was something for everyone to enjoy. 🏀🏐⚽️

We took the opportunity to celebrate employee milestones🎖️, shared important company announcements, and enjoyed some delicious food. The afternoon was a perfect blend of fun and celebration, truly embodying the spirit of . 🙌🏻 Every child, as their ticket was called, got to pick a toy. Then as a token of our appreciation, every employee walked away with plenty of Scherer swag, a reminder of our strong and thriving community.❤️

⛈️Rain or shine, your Scherer Construction team is here for you! ❤️Today marks the first day of spirit week as we celebrate our 40th anniversary. Many of us braved the storm to come to work in our western wear, only for the power to go out. Stay safe out there, everyone! 🙏🏻

We love our interns! This summer, we had the pleasure of hosting 6 talented interns who worked both in the office and out in the field. They gained hands-on experience in project management, learned from our superintendents, and got a real sense of what Scherer and construction management are all about. From handling paperwork submittals, collaborating with subcontractors, reading plans, and participating in meetings, these interns were fantastic!

Over the years, we've been fortunate to have many interns choose Scherer as their career path. We enjoy working with construction students from Santa Fe College, University of North Florida, and the University of Florida, especially those who are eager to stay in the area. We're passionate about teaching, guiding, and shaping the next generation of project managers and superintendents.

Exciting times are ahead for Boy Scouts of America Troop #88 as they have officially move into their newly renovated Scout Hut in Alachua! The transformation of the Scout Hut, located on the Alachua Lion's Club property, is a testament to the community's collaborative spirit. Countless hours of work, generous donations, and heartfelt support have gone into creating this wonderful space. A unique feature of the renovation is the inclusion of two tree stumps embedded in the concrete under the overhang. These stumps are earmarked for future projects by the Scouts, allowing them to leave their mark and create a lasting symbol of Troop #88's presence and our community's unity. It will be exciting to see what the Scouts come up with!

Cox Mobile’s new location at the corner of NW 23rd Ave and 43rd Street in Gainesville is now open and welcoming customers. Scherer Construction was responsible for all the site work for this entire corner development, including paving, parking, and more. Additionally, we constructed the building shell for Cox Media. It's exciting to see our community continue to grow and thrive.

Check out this beauty! The new Sunbelt Rentals Gainesville HQ is almost ready to open. This 10,500 sqft facility, located on nearly 5 acres in Northwood Commercial Park, is sure to make a substantial impact on our local area. Given Sunbelt’s leadership in the equipment rental industry, we can't wait to see the positive changes it will bring!

This past week, some clients and Scherer team members enjoyed an amazing day of fishing in Steinhatchee. The smiles and the impressive catch speak for themselves. Any day spent on the water is great, but it's even better when you have a successful haul like this. ⚓️☀️🐟🎣

Earlier this year, we completed an 8,000-square-foot interior buildout for Momentum Dance Studios, located in San Felasco Tech City, Alachua. This youth dance facility now boasts four spacious dance studios, office and administrative spaces, a kitchen, a costume room, a break area, and a study area for students. These enhancements create a well-rounded environment for both practice and support activities.

Momentum Dance Studios has already experienced a busy summer with various camps and dance lessons. This addition offers perfect parking, location, and accessibility, making it an ideal choice for the community. We are thrilled about your growth and are confident that this space will soon be filled with many more trophies.

We are thrilled to showcase one of our current Design-Build projects at the Moosehaven Retirement Community in Orange Park. This project includes a 26,500 square foot Recreation Center and an 8,000 square foot Multi-Purpose Picnic Pavilion. The Recreation Center will feature a bowling alley, bar and restaurant, pool, gym, classrooms, shuffleboard, arcade, billiards, and a courtyard with fire pits, among other amenities. Currently in the permitting stage, we are excited to break ground soon and bring this incredible vision to life. Stay tuned for more updates as we move forward with this exciting project!

Great progress is being made at the Church of Eleven22 St Johns Longleaf's new campus! It's so exciting to see the building go vertical and truly take shape.
