Join us for this exciting 6 week pottery series with artist Carolyn von Zabern! We will be learning hand building and wheel techniques as we create unique and useful pottery pieces.

Classes will take place on Saturdays from 2-4.

Artist statement:
My passions in life always have been medicine and art. I started making pottery when I returned to Gainesville, FL in 1992 after completing my medical residency. Putting my hands on clay has been as meaningful to me in creating a sense of wellbeing as working my patients. Over the decades, I enjoyed honing my skills, even completing an art residency at the Mendocino Art Center in California (October 2020). I have sold my work at different venues including the Downtown Arts Festival. I find great peace in art and enjoy portraying the beauty of our world in my work. I love teaching, both beginners and more experienced artists, helping them find enjoyment and peace through pottery.

We are running the kids area at the Art Festival Thornebrook. Come play with clay and enjoy this beautiful day!

Come play with us! Help is needed to run the children’s area at this weekend’s Art Festival at Thornebrook. Shifts are 2-2.5 hours long from 12-5:30 on Saturday and 9:30-5:30 on Sunday. Activities include: selling water and lemonade, overseeing the clay table, helping kids have fun with the parachute, bubbles, chalk and corn hole game. Yopp! Inc is a 501c3 and all hours can be counted towards high school graduation requirements. Email us at [email protected] if interested.
