Zenith Transoceanic 1951 model. We are proud that we had the opportunity to restore this beauty and family heirloom. So many parts and lots of cleaning and now a beauty to behold.
Yaesu FTDX-5000 started in production in 2009. No longer in production but still a very good transceiver. Dual receiver and a lot of options. This one came in for the typical oled issues plus no transmit. Repaired the transmit issue and replaced the oled displays. I almost never post newer radios but this is a beautiful transceiver. Lots of k***s to turn with a ton of modern features.
Drake TR-7 from 1977. This one had been sitting for years and needed quite a bit of work to get it operational again. Working like new and on its way back home.
1956 Siemens Schatulle. This beauty came in with a few issues due to age. These are very well made and highly collectible from the high prices they bring. Repairs completed and ready to head back to its owner.
1948 Zenith Transoceanic. This one came in missing all the wave antennas and cabinet parts. We found everything in a couple of our donor radios. This is a family heirloom that belonged to our clients father who was in the military during and after the war when he was stationed all over the world. We are always honored to bring these gems back to life for our clients.
Radio Shack DX 150A from 1970. These single conversion receivers are amazingly good and stable. This one has been owned and operated by the owner since new. I guess after 54 years it was time to go through it and bring it back up to spec.
1971 RCA stereo console. This one came in with terrible issues. We replaced the amplifier with a modern one and modified the preamp to work with the new one so the k***s and buttons work like they originally did before. It probably sounds better than it did new.
A sweet little consolette by RCA from 1958. A total restoration both cabinet and chassis. All caps and most of the resistors have been replaced. New idler wheel for the turntable and stylus. This is a family heirloom so no expense was spared. It looks beautiful and plays as good as new
1931 Silvertone cabinet radio. This one came in from a long hiatus in storage. A complete restoration and cabinet redo and this art deco work of art is ready to head out to the owner.
1949 Zenith Transoceanic. This is one of the earliest models that we have done. A total restoration and cleaning. These radios are works of art.
General Electric model 408 from 1950. This is a family heirloom, so we took some extra time on it to get it back in this condition. The front bezel was in pieces and it was totally recapped. It’s a beautiful AM-FM tabletop now
Marantz 2250B from 1975. This one came in from a horrible attempt at a restoration. We fixed all the “failed attempts “ and finished what they should have done in the first place. We removed the cheap blue leds and replaced them with a nice warm white set. Polished the front panel and wood cabinet. Now the customer has a very nice receiver that he can be proud of.
This is a rare one. The Hammurlund HQ-215, made in 68-69 only. This was Hammurlunds attempt to compete with the Collins 75S 3c. Notice it looks similar to a Collins. This one came in for a complete restoration and it had some interesting issues. We had to design and build an AGC circuit for it. It is a very sensitive receiver and will be an asset to the owner for years to come
Akai GX 260D from 1973. These were very high quality with good heads for reverse recording. This one was completely restored with better quality caps and will probably outlast most of us.
Collins 75A-4 from 1957. This one came in from a partial restoration. We had to straighten up some miswiring and some stuff that wasn’t done correctly. We modified the IF circuit for more sensitivity. We didn’t have to do anything to the cabinet. It was cleaned up by the other restorers. It works beautifully now and looks terrific.
Pioneer SX 636 from 74-76 along with a Yamaha YP-D6 turntable from 1977. They came in for a restoration and cleaning. We replaced the old incandescent panel lights with warm white led’s. They are a beautiful duo.
Kenwood TS-990S. The top of the line transceiver. This one came in after falling off of a shelf. I am sure the owner shed a few tears. A complete front panel, display and control and sub board later, now back to brand new condition again
Pioneer SX-780 from 78-80. A solid 45 wpc and probably under rated l love meters and this one doesn’t disappoint. This one came in for a complete renovation. All new caps and lights. A good cleaning and this is what we ended up with. Very nice and classy with some good sound.
Yamaha CA-810 integrated amplifier from 1977. These were high end amps which the engineers put attention to every detail. Not only the power amp but the pre amp and the phono eq. We replaced nearly every part in this unit by the owners request. Over 75 parts so this amplifier is brand new. It sounds amazing and looks as good too

Kenwood TS 950SDX. In my opinion, these are the best radios ever made by Kenwood. This one came in with a smashed front panel and bent controls and broken k***s plus a non working antenna tuner. A new front panel and controls and use of the “golden hammer “ to straighten the frame and now as good as new.
A nice little Drake 2B came in for some work after sitting for 20 plus years. A few parts and a good cleaning and alignment and good as new.
You don’t see these very often so I thought I would post. Tokyo Hy Power HL-1.1KFX. These little power house amplifier put it a kilowatt on n all bands. I wish this company was still in business. Some of the best solid state amps ever built. This one came in for low output. Problem was on the input side causing high swr on the exciter causing it to cut back.
1989 Icom IC-765. This one was purchased brand new by the owner and came in for a general tuneup and to correct a few issues.
Zenith Royal 3000-1 from 1969. This one was a retirement gift from the engraving on the front panel. This one came in for some work and a good cleaning. It cleaned up nicely and will be headed out the door soon
