College World Series postpones Kentucky-Florida elimination game On Tuesday, NCAA Baseball the Kentucky-Florida matchup in the College World Series has been postponed due to inclement weather.

We now know the time and the team the Gators will play first in the College World Series.

We have the best wing deal in town tonight with .55 dine in only wings. Come try our newest flavors Malt Vinegar Dry rub and Jamaican jerk. College baseball Super Regionals finish today with Georgia vs NC ST. So remember to get here early so you can get a good seat to get your wings.

Mother's Saga

In The Spring of 2007 two Friends were looking for a new adventure in their lives and looked to open their first restaurant.
They looked at several locations around the Tampa and Orlando area. When nothing jumped out or seemed like the right opportunity, a location was suggested to them in Gainesville, FL. They thought, "Hey, a college town. Worst case scenario you can re-brand yourself every four years." So, in June of 2007, they bought what was known at the time as "The Shamrock," which older alumni would have known as Snuffy's." After a month of re-modeling and revamping, it changed from a local music pub hang out to an Irish sports bar. They vowed they wouldn't be an ESPN sports bar, so they added MLB Extra Innings. The Boston fans rejoiced and were here every day until the Red Sox won it all the fall of that year.

Mother's has gone through a few changes since that opening day in July of 2007. We closed and sold off the original location on University, which is no longer a part of the Mother’s family. We opened our location at NW 39th in December of 2018, which previously was Sal’s, Chomps, Panama Joes and Copper Monkey. This location more then triples our original size and an ode to our old dive bar location is our Tavern room The menu has changed a few times, we have more sports packages and live music. One of the original owners left years ago, but one thing that stays the same is our commitment to Gainesville and to its fans of sports, music and great food. We hope you will enjoy 39th location as much as the original!
Why The Name?
To answer the question why the name Mother's Pub & Grill, it dates back to 1986. "About Last Night" was one of our favorite movies back in the day, and with one of us being from the Chicago area, it hit home as one of the best names we could use. If you look at Rob Lowe and Jim Belushi's shirts, you see the name of their home bar was "Mother Malone's." The rest, as they say, is "history."

Sorry this post is late this month, but here is our list of bands playing in May

We will be open on Christmas Eve 10 AM to Midnight showing all the NFL games that day and offering .65 wings and $7 Brat specials. On Christmas Day we will open at Noon to Midnight offering a full menu and Xmas Ham Dinner with Green breans and Homemade scallop potatoes while they last, But due to a limited crew that day we will not be able to offer our wing special.
