The Gainesville Soccer Alliance TOPSoccer Program is a FREE soccer league for players with special needs.
The league is focused on friendship and fun for players with special needs. Volunteer coaches (called โbuddiesโ) often outnumber players 3 to 1 as they work on skills, games and just being social.

Help researchers at the University of Florida understand what making friends and hanging out means to autistic adolescents!
Your teenager may be eligible to participate if:
- they are between 13 and 17 years old,
- have a formal diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder,
- and they want to talk about social interactions for two 1-hour interviews!

Partnership for Effective Programs for Students with Autism (PEPSA) is now accepting applications for their next cohort of PEPSA Partners.
The Partnership Program is an initiative that supports educatorsโ professional development in an effort to enhance the educational programs for students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in Florida. Every year, PEPSA and the Statewide Centers for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD) join to select a cohort of educators and provide them with training and technical assistance to develop and implement innovative and effective practices within educational programs for students with ASD.

Are you a caregiver of a child with ASD?
We are offering a six-week structured support group for caregivers of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related disabilities (RD). The sessions will be co-lead by a team clinicians from UF Health Psychology. The schedule of activities for the structured support group is designed to teach stress management strategies and explore family well-being. The activities will include values exploration, stress management and the maintenance of stress, and promoting family well-being. This program is free of charge to UF CARD constituents 18 & older.
Participants in the structured support group can also consent to participate in a research study led by principal investigators, Regilda A. Romero, Ph.D. and Audrey Milam, M.Ed, from the UF Center for Autism and Neurodevelopment. The research study aims to evaluate the outcomes of a structured support group for caregivers of autistic children with rating scales and a focus group.

Calling Autistic Seniors/Juniors in High School Planning on Attending College:
Iโm a high school student in New York participating in a science research program. I am conducting a research study with guidance from my mentor, a professor at the University of Florida. We are interested in learning about student perspectives and parental perspectives on the transition to college/university. To capture these perspectives, we have devised a short survey (10 mins to complete) for you to complete. You will be asked about specific areas and how confident/comfortable you feel in each area. There will be no personally identifiable information; all of the data will be anonymous and this project has ethical approval from the IRB. CARD Statewide Conference Scholarships
University of Florida Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (UF CARD) is offering scholarships to attend the 2025 Annual Statewide CARD Conference. The Conference will be held January 17-19, 2025 at The Florida Hotel & Conference Center in Orlando, Florida. Six scholarships will be awarded to adult constituents, parents/guardians of constituents, or educators in our catchment area who would like to attend but need financial support. Scholarships include pre-paid registration and reimbursement of up to $300 in lodging/hotel costs.
