*Intro to Nia*: A 90-min “Nia 101” for those curious about Nia, and those wanting to deepen their knowledge of the practice. We’ll talk about Nia’s origins and fundamental concepts, and enjoy a beginner-level movement session.
Saturdays, 10 - 11:30 AM (pick one date, all include similar content): September 16, October 28, November 18.
*Nia Classes*: On-going, all-level movement classes, inspired by dance, martial arts, and mindfulness. Beginners welcome!
Classes usually held outdoors, on the lawn at the Thomas Center Gardens. Indoor location available in September.
Weekly classes:
Sundays, 10-11 AM
Wednesdays, 12-1 PM (starting October 11)
*Mindful Art & Movement Workshops *: At each workshop we’ll explore a different theme, and will discuss, journal, and do simple art and movement exercises. All you need is an open heart and a curious mind! Beginners welcome!

Through discussion, meditation, journaling, and simple movement and drawing exercises we’ll explore the elusive and subjective concept of “real”.
This is a 3-hour all-level all-ages workshop. Beginners are welcome! In person, at the Duckpond neighborhood, Gainesville.

Our Story
Nia is a cardio group fitness class inspired by dance, martial arts, and healing arts. A unique blending of the fluidity and focus of Tai Chi and yoga, the grace and spontaneity of modern dance, and the energy and explosiveness of martial arts, Nia boosts both physical and emotional well-being. Nia is pleasurable, healthy and never boring.
Every Nia class can be adapted to individual needs and abilities.
