A customer stopped by Saturday to share her quilt made for a relative. It's pieced and appliqued and has ruched flowers and embroidery and other 3-dimensional flowers! It's a work of art! And she's working on another. How wonderful!
Michelle stopped by for backing and binding for her beautiful blue and white quilt. She brought in her clamshell quilt made from a kit she bought from us at Fredericksburg quilt show.
Note: New deadline: Quilters, only 12 days to go until the music challenge quilt entries are due! September 9 is the deadline. We've received several entries already.

We Love It! ❤️
Pssst! Don't forget to label! We know it's short notice, but try to tune in Wednesday for an informative talk about documenting your quilts!
This Wednesday on Textile Talks, join Emma Parker and Amy Milne of the Quilt Alliance who will introduce you to three quilts with no label at risk of becoming Anonymous. We’ll demonstrate the steps of quilt documentation, from documenting your own process, to an inherited quilt with a rich history, to a mystery quilt. Link in profile to register.
The Longarm Club had a very busy meeting today! First up: Teresa shared her Aboriginal quilt showcasing her awesome quilting. Her pieced backing using left-over fabrics is eye catching, too!
Then Jan shared her latest works, including the Music Challenge, inspired by Sheila Frampton Cooper's techniques. She used her longarm and domestic machine for quilting. She also made the perfect dress for summer, using her chic stash! Looking good, Jan!
A customer stopped by with 2 no-longer UFO's! And in time for their respective holidays. Sew pretty.
Jo came in to get binding for her Complete Course quilt she finished recently. A bright and cheerful quilt taught in the 10 week class here at Capital Quilts. Jo says the colors are inspired by Barbie. Well done, Jo!
Leslie quilted her gorgeous queen-size quilt on the Amara on Friday. She loved not having to baste her quilt ahead of time. She did a great job!
Renay Eutermoser of the Sew Friendly Quilt Group sent us this photo with a note of thanks for sharing the pattern and directions for placemats for Meals on Wheels. Their group created some wonderful placemats for Seniors in Emmaus, PA.
Thank you for sharing!
We forgot to post this back in April! Diana came in for border and backing for her scrappy happy quilt. She hand pieced the entire top and plans on hand quilting it, too!
How cheerful!
Kate brought in her latest project to share. The top is all transportation themed fabrics, perfect for her cutie pie nephew. The pieced back is just as fun, using more fabrics with vehicles, making this a two sided quilt!
Erin stopped in Tuesday to select fabrics for a quilt for a granddaughter arriving in August. She brought in her grandson’s well loved quilt that she made for him last year.
Just look at the amazing hand quilting she did to personalize it with a family favorite nursery rhyme!
Thanks for sharing!
Caity used a lovely Pro-Stitcher design with mint-colored thread to complete this beauty as a good gift for her mom! I think mom will treasure this!
Talented Faye came in looking fabulous wearing her top made with Marcia Derse fabric. She looks so chic and cool!
For his first time renting, David brought his friend Ryan because he had never before seen a long arm machine. By the end of his rental time, they had completed 6 placemats. David booked time to quilt a larger project.
Stop spamming.
Jana came in to quilt this adorable hand appliqued baby quilt on the Amara. She used rulers and free motion to get it done! How adorable. Great job, Jana!
