HOBBY: I have known how to sew as long as I can remember. My mom was a quilter and taught me early on. I love to make all sorts of things and have recently really enjoyed thrifting and fixing up vintage sewing machines. Some of the older models are really unique and have a great history to them. I also have a habit in dabbling in all sorts of crafty things along with houseplants. I find it hard to pick just one hobby to focus on when there are so many out there!

FAVE MOVIE: Kiki’s Delivery Service has been one of my favorite movies for the last 20 years! Anything by that director is really fantastic and well written, and the animation style is also beautiful.

FUN FACT: One thing I wish I could do more of is travel! I spent a year studying abroad during college and have taken a few international trips since then. I am hoping I can travel more places both inside and outside of the US. Some of my favorite places to visit are smaller towns or national parks, but one of the coolest things I’ve seen was on my return flight from visiting the UK in May, we landed in Iceland as the volcano was erupting. It was definitely a once in a lifetime view from the plane window!

🏫 I spent two years as a Resident Assistant managing all-freshman wings in college. Then, as a Grad student, I was responsible for managing a building of 400 freshmen. From conflict mediation to career counseling to mentoring, freshmen college students personal crises and building a vibrant community - it was one of the best experiences of my life!

🎓 I was born in Barbados, lived in St. Lucia, returned to Barbados for my associate's degree, then moved to Miami where I earned my undergrad degree in finance and information systems and my master's from the School of Business at Florida International University.
