The goal isnāt to create zombie dogs who have no personality, no fun, no life. The goal is to help our dogs find a balance which enables them to have the highest quality of life.
Just because dogs will run, walk, play, pace, bark, chew all day, doesnāt mean itās whatās best for them. We all know that humans who have only one sp*ed: āgo 100% at all timesā are often severely compromised both mentally and physically, and usually burn outā¦with ugly consequences. Yet we allow our dogs to be motion/action junkies, and never think to consider what negatives might arise from not knowing how to simply turn it all off.
Most dogs we see in our program have never been helped to learn how to turn off. Their owners have thought the never ending āgoā was simply being a dog. So we see jumping, obsessive barking and licking, counter surfing, reactivity, destruction, hyper-territorial/overly suspicious, anxiety, nervousness, and countless other symptoms.
And strangely, for most of these dogs, once some simple rules and structure, and some enforced calm are made part of their daily lives, the laundry list of behavior issuesāwhich we never actually addressed specifically/individuallyā¦evaporate.
Does the lack of frenzy and the ability to turn off āfixā everything on its own? Of course not, but the amount of issues that it does resolve would astound most if they could see the transformation, relief, and improved wellbeing over and over again as weāre able to.
Perhaps itās the missing piece to you and your dogās peace. ā¤ļø

Miss Madison is back on Wednesdays for some day training and working on some new agility skills! Her mom has put in the work after training and wants to continue to give Madison enriching things to do!
So she gets to learn and hang out with STABLE dogs once a week to help her excel in life.
āSocializingā doesnt always mean playing with other dogs, we teach neutrality. So Miss Madison can exist in a world of dogs but doesnt pay them any mind unless we let her say hello. We encourage play time but only with stable and balanced playmates who are also able to teach appropriate manners safely with younger dogs. Playtime is carefully monitored by multiple trainers to be sure that any inappropriate behaviors are addressed immediately and everyone has a good mindset while enjoying the day.
This is the main reason most trainers tell people to AVOID doggy daycares. Most day cares have young people in with the dogs with a high ratio of dogs to human. They unfortunately usually dont pay attention to body language or escalating situations so your dog can have a bad experience for sure. And when the inevitable fight breaks out the humans are unsure of how to de-escalate the situation safely. Madsion had a BLAST and got to learn new things! That is the goal!
