A MUST READ speech from the National Model United Nations - NMUN ceremony on Wednesday, where 11 Stockton University students had the privilege of hearing from Setsuko Thurlow, a Hiroshima Atomic Bomb Survivor and Leading Figure for the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN). “As per her request, they were presented by Professor Emerita Donna Tatsuki at the Opening Ceremony for NMUN • Japan on 23 November 2022 in Kobe, Japan. National Model United Nations partnered with Kobe City University of Foreign Studies to hold this prestigious intercollegiate UN simulation.”

Our first day at conference included a UN Peace Forum with speakers from UNDP, Save the Children, JICA, and UNIQLO, with separate speeches from the Ukrainian faculty advisor here with her students and a 90-year old Hiroshima survivor.

Congratulations to Syeda Sanjidha as she heads off to law school in the fall. Syeda graduated from Stockton in 2020, double majoring in Criminal Justice and French and minoring in Women’s Gender and Sexuality Studies.
