It is with great sadness that this will be my final Facebook post for Riptide. After 3 years we are closing down. It has been my privilege and honor to preside over this bar. I have enjoyed meeting so many of you and sharing a drink. Thanks to the 1558 people who clicked "Like". Thanks to all of the dogs that graced our Yappy Hours. Thanks to all the bands that played and entertained. My heart goes out especially to Carl Piano Smith's family on his sudden passing. Thanks to Robert Kuhn for being a kick ass house band. Thanks to all the bikers, surfers, skateboarders, cyclists, BOIs, tourists, locals, neighbors, Aggies, Longhorns, Cougars. Major thanks to my staff over these years. Thanks to all the people who threw there parties or weddings here. Thanks to Billy and Scott for letting me steal their photography. (Getty Images can kiss my ass!) Thanks to Mary for walking in to this place, your are the love of my life. Thanks to all of the "regulars" you know who you are. I shall see many of you tonight and for years to come. Cheers to each of you.
