I’m loving Turkey and the cities of Istanbul and Ankora. Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosques and the underground cisterns are incredible along with the treasures of Topkapi and the archeological museums and palaces are so different than the other places I have visited. Truly where the continents have met and where the Byzantine, Christian and Muslin cultures have converged throughout history.

Today we drove to Ankora, the capital of Turkey. We visited the mausoleum of the founding father of Turkey and then to a great archeological museum. The guards were very handsome and they all looked alike

Another day in Istanbul. I went to the Sultan’s palace on the water,then to the old Sultan’s palace behind the Hagia Sophia Mosque which is now a museum which houses the Topkapi jewels and then to the under ground cisterns used to store water. The opulent display of diamonds and jewel encrusted items were incredible.
