North Wind Classic

Just wanted to put out an update: We will not be holding an event on Mille lacs this year. We were unable to rally enough staff members to make this happen. Wayazata yacht club has been in discussions to put on a snowkite regatta in early March on Mille. Keep an eye out for their developments.

We are looking for someone with experience in fundraising/event sponsorship. Experience raising money for sporting events a plus. Knowledge of snow kiting/kiteboarding a plus. Commission based position. Send us a message if you are interested in being an integral part of the team!

Sunday 3/13, looks warm with a little breeze. Let’s gather at the Waconia DNR launch around 9:30-10am and hope for some wind! We’ll light some grills early afternoon and chat about bringing back an end of season event up Mille Lacs for 2023 (and beyond). Bring gear, friends, a chair, something for the grill or to share, BYOB. See ya soon!

We've got big dreams for 2023, come and hear about it and get involved. We recognize the desire for an end of year gathering on the ice. We all felt the absence last year as our pilgrimage to Garrison in early March didn’t happen. We are working to change that for 2023.

This year we’d still like to gather, ride, and generate some stoke for next year. We’ll have some swag and will share our thoughts. Please FOLLOW the page so we can get an idea of interest in an event like this. Hope you can join us this year March 12 or 13th, Twin Cities location TBA, stay tuned.”
