"Acclaimed writer and filmmaker Jessica Renslow, whose films have won awards at film festivals like the Madonie Sicilian Film Festival and the WRPN Women’s International Film Festival, has been leading the class.

The seniors who took the class will screen their finished films at the inaugural Silver Screen Filmmakers Club Spring Showcase Saturday.

The Miller Beach Arts & Creative District will present the screening of short films from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Marshall J. Gardner Center for the Arts at 540 S. Lake St. in Gary. It's free and open to the public."

This we did a remote interview with advocate and entrepreneur Zully JF Alvarado about the genesis of the Lagoon Outlook Garden. Ms. Alvarado is a longtime proponent of universal design and uses a wheelchair. The LOG was her signature project when she was getting certified as a Master Gardener.
