WHAT IS SKIN CELL TURNOVER?

Skin cell turnover is shedding of dry dead skin cells from the outermost layer of the skin. Those dead cells are then replaced with healthy new cells. As we age, the time it takes for the skin to regenerate lengthens. For example, an 18 year old’s skin may take 14-21 days while a 50 year old could take up to 60-90 days.
