All jokes aside, cleansing in the morning is just as important as cleansing at night. Doing so can help remove sweat, dirt, excess oil, and bacteria that builds up on your skin overnight. This can help prevent clogged pores, which can lead to acne breakouts and blemishes. It can also help remove residue from skincare products that you used the night before & prep your skin for your morning skincare routine.

So I say this with love, WASH YOUR FACE (after brushing your teeth ofcourse)🫶🏼

Purging when it comes to non inflammatory acne is a common & expected side effect of using active ingredients. Any underlying oil, bacteria & debris will be pushed to the surface and cause your skin to “get worse before it gets better”. This can happen post facial or after starting a new acne regimen. This is so common and as your aesthetician I am here to help guide you every step of the way so don’t panic. The only way out is to power through!

A PSA & friendly reminder that sunscreen expires and you should be paying attention to expiration dates to avoid burning. Most sunscreens are good for 12 months after opening and some can last for up to 3 years if left unopened.

Keep in mind that if you use sunscreen as recommended, then a bottle of it won’t last long. In general, you should use about a shot glass worth on the parts of your face and body that will be in direct sun. If
you have a 4 ounce bottle, you’ll likely use aboIt 1/4 of it for one application, not including reapplying every 2 hours.

To keep sunscreen in good condition, here are a few tips:

🧴Don’t leave it out in hot weather or in direct sunlight.
🧴Put sunscreen bottles in the shade, wrap them in a towel or place them in a cooler.
🧴Throw out sunscreen if it’s color or texture changes significantly.
