Next week is an opportunity to specifically show your teacher(s) appreciation! We’re here to help with a few budget friendly ideas for your family to implement for 💛.

1. Refill Classroom Supplies such as Kleenex, pencils, and expo markers or something the teacher is running low on (and include a heartfelt note). ✏️🖍️
2. Gift Cards are practical and offers flexibility to the teacher to use if how they deem essential (simple and a teacher favorite). Present them in a cute envelope with a handwritten note. 💳💌
3. Decorate their door or hallway and collaborate with other parents (check with admin first). Encourage your scholars to write messages of appreciation. 🎨🚪
4. Send flowers or their favorite book, candle, or color basket with snacks. Thoughtful and allows for your creativity. 💐🧺

Summer vacation isn’t just a break from school—they're the secret weapon against the summer slide! With students losing up to two months of math and reading skills, it's like our brains take a vacation too! But fear not! Studies show that those who attend summer programs often defy the odds, keeping their brains sharp and their spirits high. So, let's swap out the slide for some serious summer fun and learning! 🌞📚

ELL stands for English Language Learner and scholars typically have 1-3 years in the US and are routinely assessed for listening, writing, and speaking proficiency of the English language.

Yesterday as we closed out Black History Month & welcomed Women’s History Month … we were able to introduce Jade Brown 💙 to Hawks Nest Elementary! We enjoyed their Friday Announcements, Dance Team, & Author Reading.

Jade Brown has settled into 1st grade and may be joined by the rest of the Chronicles of Fabulous Feemster dolls soon!
