Did you know that May is National Tennis Month? Last Saturday we celebrated it at the 5 de Mayo Festival!! We promoted tennis for everyone and we played with everyone who came to our booth. We gave away tennis rackets thanks to Allan Jensen from USTA Southern and many more prizes from UTO 🤩🥳

Amy Arteaga Ochoa is one of our volunteers and we are now helping her to make her dream come true 👏👏 Amy will travel to the Dominican Republic in April to participate in Teen Universe. Amy was chosen to represent El Salvador in this beauty pageant. She has only one month left and she has many expenses to cover. Among others, the plane tickets that she has not been able to buy yet. This coming Saturday, Amy and her mother will be selling pupusas to raise funds. From UTO, we want to invite you to help her to make her dream come true! We are happy to announce the start of our tennis program in Charlotte area!! 👏👏 We will be at Veterans Memorial Park in Mint Hill and for the first time in a school, Collinswood Language Academy, offering tennis classes as an "after school program." This coming Saturday, we will have a ribbon-cutting event with the Mayor of Mint Hill and two commissioners. Also members of USTA Southern and USTA North Carolina. TENNIS IN SCHOOL!! 🤩 We are happy to announce that we will be bringing our tennis program to the Collinswood Language in Charlotte! 👏👏👏 Starting February 29, students from 4 to 10 years old will be able to play tennis as an after school program at that school, Thursdays from 4:30pm to 5:30pm. Next year, we will begin our "Tennis for All" program in Charlotte 👏👏 Like in Gastonia, it will be an open program to bring this sport closer to EVERYONE. Among our participants, we will have a group of fighting mothers, with children with special conditions, whose only goal is to include them in society. We will welcome these young people with OPEN ARMS 🫶🫶🫶 Our program director in Charlotte, Coach Marta Gomez-Jordana, introduced herself and shared time with all of them this week at a Christmas activity at the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library.
