Guardians of the Children - Gastonia, NC Chapter

Thanks so much to everyone that came out today to help us help some children with Christmas!!
If you hate you missed it, it’s ok!! You can still help if you want!! We have two options for donations! If you want to donate a new unopened gift, send us a message and we can schedule a location and time to meet you to pick up, or you could send a donation via Cashapp to $Gocgastonia (no numbers behind it)!! Just put Toy run in the memo. We will accept donations for the community toy run until December 10th
As always, any funds donated to our community Christmas run will be used to supply a community child with some Christmas gifts. Any funds donated that isn’t spent will be donated to the Gaston County Toy Run for Kids!!

As our Toy Run gets under a week away, our road crew is hard at work making sure that our route is enjoyable and safe!! Come join us next Saturday!! Christmas is coming and Santa can’t do it all! Let’s help him out!! ( Rain date for the ride is November 16th ) Any weather change WILL be announced before the registration time!!

Detectives are asking for help in locating 14 year old Isabella Escamirosa who was last seen in the area of West Poplar. If you know where she is you can comment here or call 704-866-6702.

‼️Our general meeting is tomorrow (October 22) at Bearded Buffalo at 16 n Main St, Belmont NC 28012 It starts at 7pm upstairs (you can access the stairs from the outside in the back of the building or you can use the stairs inside near the front entrance) if you are interested in checking out a meeting and possibly learning more about us and becoming a member, tomorrow is the day to come get some information! Thanks to all who have donated!! Thanks the the American Legion in Kings Mountain for their donation of wheelchairs. Here are a few pictures of donations we have received, most already dropped off and some getting taken tomorrow! We are adding a box at Winners Circle where you can drop off medical donations and baby donation and can pop-top food item donations. We will also accept these donations at our CAPA Ride this Saturday. Please send a message if you have a large donation to help and we will coordinate with you on picking up. At the moment, they are communicating their needs for volunteers day by day and if they need more, we will let you know. I know the amount of volunteers who showed up this morning was great and I want to thank our supporters who showed up and showed out!!

We are here at Winners Circle. We will be here for the next hour or so. I have an updated list for medical needs!
Dermabond, kits for stitches, steriods, albuterol inhalers, antibiotics, Non rebreather mask, ox tubing, CAT Tourniquet, epi pens, medical Tape, suture kits and actual suture/needles, ear plugs, 1 gallon and 2 gallon Ziplock bags. Along with bottles, ni***es, formula, over the counter medicine, baby over the counter medication

Update!! We have plenty of wheel chairs and walkers donated. We do not need any more of those. We still need bottles ni***es adult medicine baby medicine tarps pop top can foods ect

Please no clothes or blankets. These are items that are needed for drop boxes in areas. The rescues they are bringing in are getting sent to a different location. We are going to ask around to different locations to see if and where they may need those items, but until then, they are not a need for the area we are collecting for.

The amount of volunteers that have shown up to help at the hickory airport is amazing!! At this point, they are not in need of volunteers. I appreciate everything that our community has done to help our Western Carolina community! As we know of more needs, we will inform you all!

Current needs at the Hickory Airport!

As many of you know, the devastation in our mountains is unbearable! We are trying to get supplies to the hickory airport. They are sending supplies out and helping people who are being flown in. They are in need of wheelchairs and oxygen masks, baby supplies, food, water and basic supplies, benadryl , sunscreen and bug spray, along with helping hands. We are setting up a donation spot for anyone that wants to donate any supplies in Gastonia and hopefully in more locations tomorrow. We will post times and place shortly. If you have any of these supplies and unable to get them to Hickory, feel free to send us a message and we can coordinate with you a pick up! Please pray for our surroundings neighbors
