We go the extra mile to make sure that any animals that we come across during tree trimming or removal are taken care of and have the best chance of survival!

If you come across baby squirrels during tree trimming/removals or just in your yard here are the steps that you should take!

Put them in a box, 8/10 times the momma will come back to get them within 24 hours. Leave the box as close to the area of removal as possible. After it quiets down she will usually get them. Be sure that other animals don’t have access to them. I usually set them on a chair or something off the ground. I set them on a chair and brace sticks/small logs going up to the chair and sticks/logs in the box so the mama squirrel can get up to the babies and back down easily. If it rains be sure to put the box to where they can’t get wet, meaning under a porch or somewhere out of the weather completely. If they do not have hair, be sure they stay dry and warm. Outside temps are fine this time of the year but they will not survive if they get cold. If there is absolutely no safe way to leave them they will need to go to a rescue. You have to weigh out the situation bc each one is different. If it’s cold outside, and they have no hair and you bring them in your home be sure that you get them on a heating pad on low or make a rice sock and put it in the microwave to help keep them warm. No need to feed them during this 24 hours or while waiting for the rescue.
